Another all time high due to the stonks going up. As a natural contrarian, the bullishness in equities pricing and market commentary actually makes me pessimistic, but I just need to stay focused on the course. On a bright note, after several rough months of searching I finally started a new job!

November 18, 2023: $580,473.22 as of this morning. Small market upswing plus a fairly large payment from my business deal earlier this year means I hit both my Q4 2023 and Q1 2024 goals well in advance on paper. Some of this will be taken out for taxes, but it’s been a crazy month for progress toward my goals.

December 1, 2023: $603,891.35 as of today's paycheck. Approximately $27K of this is earmarked for taxes, so I'm sitting at around $576K "true" net worth. I've reached out to my CPA to see if I can to do anything before year end to reduce that bill.
January 18, 2024: $601,752.29 as of today. This is the adjusted "true" net worth after taking out the tax account I have earmarked (currently sitting just under $45k). So I'm well on my way to my Q2 goal of $620K early, but I also have a lot of work that needs to be done around the house. I just paid for a bathroom remodel, and have a lot of other work that needs to be done (water penetration issues and remediation). Overall doing well and feeling good about the progress I'm making.
February 12, 2024: Weird mid-month update I guess. $622,698.18 adjusted "true" net worth with earmarked taxes taken out of consideration. Hit Q2 goal already, but I likely won't hang onto it for too long since I still have a LOT of work around the house to get done. I'm hoping to keep the kitchen + flooring + drywall down to ~$25K or so but we'll see. Already $23K in this year between bathroom, re-grading the lawn, and installing gutters and french drains.

March 6, 2024: $628,383.97 for now after bathroom, re-grading lawn, and installing gutters and french drains at the house. Still have more work to do, but just glad NW is still mostly holding through the spending. I'll go ahead and mark my quarterly goal as met, ahead of the curve and still waiting on some disbursements.

I haven't posted in here before, but we just passed our million when we did our numbers at the end of last month (squeaked in by $400 haha). It was a nice milestone for us both. One quirk of our numbers is that a lot of our assets are still in Australian dollars, so we've been swimming against the current of a falling Australian dollar. If we correct our numbers for that, they look even rosier - which is nice.

Well, we had an eventful March...and kid #3 is due any day now. So I paid all the bills and updated the spreadsheet a little early in case the kid decides to come on the first of the month, when I usually do all this.

Bonuses for both of us hit. Wife got some major outperformance bonuses and whatnot...plus the market being at all time highs really helped. All that to say...we did it! We've crossed the $1M net worth threshold, on paper.

What's next? First, get this kid out as soon as possible! We are strongly leaning toward me quitting and doing the stay at home dad thing for a little while. We both have 3+ months off work, paid, so we have time to decide. The Wife is also planning on looking at some other opportunities while on leave. While we didn't anything special to "celebrate" crossing the $1M mark, we both acknowledged that we have a position of strength when it comes to approaching the future. What a ride! We got married in very late 2015, and basically had a zero net worth. Less than 9 years later to the first million. Seems surreal.
