Bought a house or... about to...  Either way money for it is out the door... And yes I just took it from the easiest place, but that I am not worried about it, that should be easy enough to rebuild.  Oh and hey look, have to reach my goal again.  I'll get there, eventually.  As for estate value, not going to bring that in here, as this is strictly stocks and investments.  A house is not an investment, most of the time.  Though you could argue it's a different type of investment (Think memories and some such) but not gonna include it either way.

I am excited to join this race.  Officially, it was June 12, 2024.  I am tracking retirement accounts only at the moment and probably will throughout this race.  The last race took 4.5 years to complete and it felt a lot longer.  Lot's of life expenses during that time (weddings; college expenses, job change/location change) stretched it out a bit, but grateful to be here finally.  My goal for this race is sub 4 years.

November 18, 2023: $580,473.22 as of this morning. Small market upswing plus a fairly large payment from my business deal earlier this year means I hit both my Q4 2023 and Q1 2024 goals well in advance on paper. Some of this will be taken out for taxes, but it’s been a crazy month for progress toward my goals.

December 1, 2023: $603,891.35 as of today's paycheck. Approximately $27K of this is earmarked for taxes, so I'm sitting at around $576K "true" net worth. I've reached out to my CPA to see if I can to do anything before year end to reduce that bill.

January 18, 2024: $601,752.29 as of today. This is the adjusted "true" net worth after taking out the tax account I have earmarked (currently sitting just under $45k). So I'm well on my way to my Q2 goal of $620K early, but I also have a lot of work that needs to be done around the house. I just paid for a bathroom remodel, and have a lot of other work that needs to be done (water penetration issues and remediation). Overall doing well and feeling good about the progress I'm making.

February 12, 2024: Weird mid-month update I guess. $622,698.18 adjusted "true" net worth with earmarked taxes taken out of consideration. Hit Q2 goal already, but I likely won't hang onto it for too long since I still have a LOT of work around the house to get done. I'm hoping to keep the kitchen + flooring + drywall down to ~$25K or so but we'll see. Already $23K in this year between bathroom, re-grading the lawn, and installing gutters and french drains.

March 6, 2024: $628,383.97 for now after bathroom, re-grading lawn, and installing gutters and french drains at the house. Still have more work to do, but just glad NW is still mostly holding through the spending. I'll go ahead and mark my quarterly goal as met, ahead of the curve and still waiting on some disbursements.

April 8, 2024: $704,138.33. Still doesn't really feel real, but I'm going to keep my head down and keep moving forward.

June 4, 2024: $757,837.00. Missed the May update, can't believe it's already June. Hit Q1 2025 goal. I need to adjust my goals but it's hard to keep projecting increases when I'm not really sure when the "gravy train" comes to a halt. I'm keeping my head down, working, investing, and fixing up my damaged house. Not a whole lot else going on.

July 15, 2024: $835,443.55. Got a distribution that was long overdue from my OldBoss. About $30K of this will be going toward home renovations in the next month, I have a lot of damage that needs to be fixed. I feel like there's an end in sight with the home repairs and damage, at least, which is good. I'm about a year ahead of what I projected, but like I said, I still don't know when the rug is getting pulled.

Another month down, no closer to FIRE, but not much farther either. My mustachian car died, so I bought a new one -- between the two vehicles I recorded $11.5K in auto depreciation. I got a $10K bonus at work and about $4.5K came through after tax withholding. Combined with mixed investment performance leaves me relatively flat m/m. ETA: Stocks got walloped yesterday, so I lowered my NW by $8K. Looks like we're in for another day of red.
