4/30/19: $99,041
5/31/19: $96,807
6/14/19: $100,709 (+3902)

Well this was a surprise to see this morning. Although we're a little heavy on the cash side right now and we have some significant purchases coming up that will deplete our funds over the next couple weeks. I'll probably stay in this thread until after next paycheck (or two) to see where we've truly netted out and to make sure we're actually ready fo the next race.

Either way, we're pretty stoked to have seen 100k NW for the first time ever!

Congrats!!!

Hadn't picked up on that. +90k in less than a year is pretty darn impressive indeed.

Hello all,

Getting back slowly in the race after almost a year of maternity (paid) + parental leave (unpaid). Hoping to pass the 50K bar by the end of this year. Everything is slower in Europe but then I had 6 months of paid maternity leave so I can't complain a lot.

Haven't been here in a while. I've been silly with money but I finally crossed 50k, and got a pay rise so keen to accelerate things a little!

06/21/2019: $57,532.15

Two churning bonuses came in this pay period totaling $900, which was nice. It offset my big spend last month and got my NW back on track. I should hit $60K by the end of next month and $75K before the end of the year. More, if I get put on the pay structure I am entitled to.  If that’s the case I may hit $90K by EOY.

I've reached the £20k mark!

£22,010.88 to be exact.  That's over £3k worth of an increase since last month which blows every other month out of the water.  I think my investments have helped quite a bit!

Nearly a quarter of the way to graduating this thread.

Congrats, @zeli2033!!  I have to admit I'm always a little jealous of those of you who graduate so quickly.  Nice job!!

I get like that as well.  The population on this forum is so unique, so you're bound to find the likes of Zeli, who's smashing it, and feel quite envious.

I compare myself to my real-life comunity here in Manchester.  I'm significantly better off than my friends now, even those who earn double the money I do, because they squander theirs.  In fact, I'm cooking dinner tonight for a friend who's 'skint' and needs to wait until payday to get their shopping done! Another friend has just bought a pair of Balenciagas out of the money he's saving to put down on a house.

The progress you're making will have you ahead of the vast majority of people out there.  You're going to reach FI, it's just a case of when! :)

This looks fun, and might help me stay motivated. I will leanfire with a paid off house at $360,000. So in other words, im a million miles away still.

I think our numbers will qualify when I update July 1st (or close enough :).
I have been tracking in excel since January this year.

Combined NW:

2019
Jan: -$7,248
Feb: -$6,093
Mar: -$1,081
Apr: $1,221
May: $4,418
Jun: $5,562

Good luck with it.  I'm sure you'll make some good progress.

I started in the saving to 10k thread.  It's very motivational.  I think you get more feedback in there than you do on this thread and I would definitely recommend starting in there.

I'd also recommend reading the 'don't pay of your mortgage' thread if you haven't already!

Thanks! I am over 10k today, so by my July update I would have to leave the 10k thread anyways, so I figured Id post in this thread.

I don't have a mortgage (yet), and believe me, at 3% I would not pay one cent over the minimum.

And good luck to you too, I hope you reach your goals! (unless you're a blue) ;)

Yes, I really loved the 10k thread and I'm so happy to see many people from that thread in this thread now. Sometimes it seems that everyone on this forum earns 6 figures, and while that's great for them, it's something so far away from my life that it's hard to relate to that.

Especially over the last year I've started to notice just how much more well off I am compared to most people I know. And I'm not a big earner, just about average. But there's a couple hundred left over at the end of the month every single month, a bit more in a good month, and now my emergency fund is filled up completely, I can invest quite a lot. It's the little things that add up. I still have fun and meet friends and go on trips, I just don't spend an insane amount of money doing it. And I don't live in the capital which is a major cost saver.

For context: I'm 29 in a HCOL city. I'm married, but these are my own numbers since we keep our finances separate. Includes cash, retirement, and credit cards, which are used for normal expenses and paid off in full every month.

3/18: $48,533.91
4/18: $53,215.13 (+4,681.22 - extra paycheck)
5/18: $55,433.65 (+2,218.52)
6/18: $57,041.95 (+1,572.27)
7/18: $59,753.49 (+2,711.54)
8/18: $63,816.19 (+4,062.70)
9/18: $70,101.27 (+6,285.08 - extra paycheck)
10/18: $73,538.91 (+3,437.64)
11/18: $69,595.61 (-3,943.30)
12/18: $73,126.64 (+3,531.03)
1/19: $69,733.94 (-2,712.15)
2/19: $78,918.09 (+9,184.15 - extra paycheck)
3/19: $83,762.93 (+4,844.84)
4/19: $86,925.57 (+3,162.64)
5/19: $92,839.14 (+5,913.57)
6/19: $90,415.30 (-2,423.84)
7/19: $96,745.04 (+6,329.74)

Reporting early since I'm about to go out of town. Getting very close, though my net worth keeps vacillating with the market. I'm not convinced I'll stay above the threshold once I reach it...

This includes all our retirement and personal accounts for assets. It includes our credit cards, student loan, and mortgage for liabilities. It DOES NOT include our home value.

April 2018 - $52,917.42
May 2018  - $58,400.19
June 2018 - $59,686.34
July 2018  - $65,798.53
Aug 2018 - $72,231.70
Sept 2018 - $76,755.71
Oct 2018 -  $64,348.89
Nov 2018 - $70,839.76
Dec 2018 - $58,351.73
Jan 2019 - $78,256.31
Feb 2019 - $87,795.97
Mar 2019 - $67,121.29
Apr 2019 - $75,155.85
May 2019 - $63,243.68
June 2019 - $79,359.89

Big bounce-back month in the market. Also, negotiated a 25% reduction in a medical bill. Also got a nice bonus from my summer employment. Wife has a 3 paycheck month in July. It'll be a nice month!

1/10/18: 43,071
1/11/18: 46,223 (+3152)
1/12/18: 50,605 (+4382)
1/01/19: 57,786 (+7181)
1/02/19: 65,133 (+7347)
1/03/19: 71,695 (+6562)
1/04/19: 77,573 (+5878)
1/05/19: 86,088 (+8515)
1/06/19: 86,749 (+0661)
1/07/19: 95,468 (+8719)

Big rebound by the markets plus some good old savings despite a spendy month. 100k is getting real! I have a big cross country move coming up in August so I'll effectively have a full month without income but should still be able to hit 100k by years end.

I do not include my savings to buy expensive "fun items" like new cellphone, electronics etc. as it is not very big. My checking account is also not included as it has money I will likely spend this month. Goal for 2019 is to make it to $45K.

Net worth:
Dec2017:$7800
Apr2018:$13,200
Aug2018:$22,800
Sep2018: $23,645
Oct2018: $23,658
Nov2018: $23,948 (+$290)
Dec2018: $23,960 (+12)
Jan2019: $27,100 (+3140)
Feb2019: $29,443 (+2343)
Mar2019: $31,603 (+2160)
Apr2019: $33,959 (+2356)
May2019 $33,933 (-$26)
Jun2019: $37928.82 (+3995)- Those stocks on sale are finally paying off! Good job everyone who has graduated or joined!

Reporting a little early

September 1 2018 -  $ 10,182.02

October 1 2018 -  $ 14,632.57

November 1 2018 -  $ 16,671.27

December 1 2018 -  $ 23,468.48

June 1 2019 -  $ 54,756.42

This is my partner's and my combined net worth. He is currently at 5k and I am at 57k. He's just wrapping up the debt repayment phase and I have been saving aggressively for some time. In addition to maxing retirement accounts, I have also been setting aside cash for a house downpayment. This means we're a little cash-heavy.

I went on a 3 week trip to SE-Asia so I had no clue about financials. Turns out I earned money while traveling around! My salary was also a mysterious €70 higher than normal. No clue why but would be nice if it's a lasting change!

June 2018 €23.300 (+9k over 6 months)
Dec 2018 €35.600 (+13.3k over 6 months)

I had a HUGE spending month this month, with over $300 in outstanding reimbursements and almost $500 in pre-paying insurance toward a cc spend target. I had only a 20% savings rate, but the market did the rest. Also, this marks my NW surpassing a full year's income.

April 2019: €10094.35
May 2019:  €11629.87
June 2019: €12728.63

Goals for 2019:
Savings: €5000
Investments: €10000

We're doing some DIY that's going to cost quite a bit of money, but we haven't made as much progress as we'd liked to. Which means we also haven't spent that much money yet and I'm still moving in the right direction.

Hello everyone! It is my first time posting in this thread, I just made by way over from the race to $10k thread which I just surpassed.

Here is a basic breakdown of the numbers as of the end of the day today:

Total Cash/Cash Equivalents: $31,642
Total Liabilities: $20,131

Net Worth: $11,511

Virtually all of my liabilities are student loans. I also have some minor balances on my credit cards, which I pay off monthly. I've been aggressively attacking the student loans (see my participation in the student loan challenge if curious) and have made steady progress.

As for asset composition,  20% are in checking accounts, 13% is in my HSA and 67% is in my 401k.

9/29/17 - $11,511 (First post in thread)
6/30/18 - $36,000
7/31/18 - $38,676
8/31/18 - $40,277
9/30/18 - $50,572
10/31/18 - $46,085
11/30/18 - $48,956
12/31/18 - $46,003
1/31/19 - $53,028
2/28/19 - $58,276
3/31/2019 - $67,340
4/30/2019 - $70,674
5/31/2019 - $69,853
6/30/2019 - $75,757

At the same time, I'm glad things are going to be calmer now--the past year has been a LOT and I'm ready to have time without a Giant Thing on the immediate horizon. And to definitively get over $100k!

Just keep plugging along. I was fortunate enough to get pay an extra $600 toward my debt this month. Student Loans are going down fairly fast. At least for me. They should all be gone here in the next few years at this rate!

The more I read these forums the more I realize how much the sl's can hold people back. I'm fortunate that I grew up in a country where higher education is really affordable but now.i live here so I can take advantage of higher wages without the corresponding debt burden.

Wow, the market has been a friend this month. Despite some ridiculous spendypants behavior (new dishwasher, new bike, new hair) we still netted positive.

My husband starts getting his 401k match this month so our savings will speed up a bit. Dare I predict a graduation by the end of the year?

Finally a nice jump ahead. I was overestimating liabilities as my partner 'owed ' money to our shared investments she was late to chuck in.

Will need to stay serious as I have holidays coming up.

Fingers crossed for graduation at the end of August!  It can’t not happen (due to my automated savings) unless the markets go down again, so we shall see!  I’ve held a consistent 37.5% savings rate these past few months, I’d like to get that number higher.  Time to get creative..

Not quite sure where this big jump came from this month, but I'll take it. It'll even out next month though as we have to spend a couple grand to pay for the repairs we had done to our rental house to get it ready to sell.

6/30/2019 $17,825.45 -3,673.20 decrease

Looking forward to returning to work this month so I can turn this number back around. I am grateful that I had this time home with the little one and was able to live off the small STD payout (5 weeks) and some of the bonus I got right before heading out on Maternity Leave. I was able to keep all my bills paid and not rack up any credit card debt in the process. I'll also have a chance to get caught up on the forums (I hope)
