6/1/2020: $19,606.73
7/1/2020: $26,480.37

I realized this month that my automated monthly payments -- my minimum student loan principal payment, my mortgage principal payment, and my regular monthly contributions to my 401k and HSA -- increase my net worth by more than $4000 every month (well, unless my investment contributions lose value in the market, but that's temporary), even if I don't manage to save another cent. That's a really good feeling!

It is interesting to see the shift - sometimes it feels like a revelation - new perspectives opening up all the time.:)
... and yup, those are some satisfying numbers @mckaylabaloney

@shrimpwd - sweet victories along the way:)

4/1/18 - 8,288.95
11/14/18 - 17,977.82
3/30/19 - 24,649.79
7/1/19 - 29,604.18
10/1/19 - 31,878.15
1/1/20 - 36,198.66
4/1/20 - 35,304.66

7/1/20 - 44,927.83

That's a BIG increase for me in one quarter! Might meet my stretch goal of 50K by the end of the year at this rate.

No data for April, I lost my interest seeing the losses :)

I graduated from the 10k thread last month, but that was just for my investment account after discovering FIRE. So for this thread I figured I should add up everything towards my FI goal - investments, shares and pensions, but it does mean I've leapt ahead rather!

01/07/2020 - £75,523.86

This does include 1 pension that's very out of date, hopefully will have an update next month. Also I'm not including house, cars and cash as I'll keep them for an end of the year net worth update

It has been so long since I've been on these forums! Need to get my focus back, so good to see so many people doing so well :D

I'd love to join the race too please. I always keep three months in cash as an emergency, so I guess all my numbers below should really include that, but for simplicity I'll just put the total invested amount in:

July 2018: £20,385
October 2018: £24,504
January 2019: £25, 295
April 2019: £33,844
July 2019: £38,667
October 2019: £38,588
January 2020: £43,260
April  2020:  £38,094
July 2020: £49,062.35

BIG HALFWAY POINT COMING! (assuming markets don't tank)

PTF and to join you soon.

I am on my way to 100k, but I am missing a good overview... shame on me.
I also more or less lost a decade, but that is snow from yesterday, as we say in Germany :-D

20 Dec 18 - 37,800
Mid March 2019 - 45,815
20 June 2019 - 50,890
Mid September 2019 - 57,608
15 December 2019 - 65,794
1 April 2020 - 71,465
15 May 2020 - 80,396
15 June 2020 - 85,996
1 July 2020 - 89,300
15 July 2020 - 90,232

Slightly underwhelming update BUT
Mid month updates are usually less big due to how my 401k gets paid
I am still waiting on EOFY dividends
Basically still on track for my plan, hoping to graduate by 1st September

Here’s a visual of my progress from September 2016 (discovering MMM to today) for anyone that likes data/charts:

Keep being awesome! :-)

Oct 2019- $1000
Nov 2019- $2340
Dec 2019- $2779
Jan 2020- $5658
Feb 2020- $5539
Mar 2020- $5024
Apr 2020- $5444
May 2020- $8302  (wherein I finally got some of unemployment)
June 2020- $20864 (wherein I got more unemployment plus the EIDL)
mid July 2020- $31724 (got the rest of the backpay, woohoo!)

Hit $30k this week, very stoked.  Dis some crazy shiz in the last few months.
PUA has been amazing for me and I hope to take huge advantage of stashing.
Work has been opening a little, it's here and there, this week I made ~ $375 which is pretty dope.  But $300 of that was from one day sooooo?
I have a DoorDash offer for $100 if I do 40 trips in the next 2 weeks.  I've slacked on deliveries lately bc didn't want to mess up my unemployment but will probs just go for it since the extra $600 is ending soon anyway and I already got my backpay finally.

Finance stuff:
I opened a SEP IRA and put in $5kish recently, and then put 20% of my holdings in commodities. I don't feel the most bullish on bonds right now, the metals will be my hedge.
I did more research on whether opening a self-directed IRA with MySolo401K is worth it or not.  I really would prefer to include a small position in crypto and wine, and maybe at some point real estate (tho there are a lot of options I'm into that you can set up an IRA with).
I plan to get to $15k in cash then put it in a bank bonus deal that will earn me $600 + funding with CC to earn $40.

Entrepreneurship:
I also have been reading more about "passive" income.  Eventually I'd like to offer another kindle book (I have a poetry journal of the Appalachian Trail- yeah, you can guess that's not a top seller lol).
I'm going to start with tradelines and also am working on resurrecting my business for seeing a limited number of (acupuncture) patients privately, making a website again to offer this and other services I do (herbal medicine, Reiki, astrology and I Ching readings).  I am thinking even to offer "money coaching"- I've basically been doing this for friends all through the pandemic and in general.

I will also start calling again to figure out WTF is going on with the insurance companies I've applied to be in network with (one company it's been over 2 years, I hate being on the phone for literally hours but now I'm good at it after dealing with PUA last few months).  Getting paid via insurance is good money and I feel less bad about taking it than charging a lot for a treatment.  It would help me do sliding scale for people which I would like.

15 July 2020 - 90,232

Slightly underwhelming update BUT
Mid month updates are usually less big due to how my 401k gets paid
I am still waiting on EOFY dividends
Basically still on track for my plan, hoping to graduate by 1st September

You're so close! Really encouraging to see so thank you for posting. Can't wait until you move to the race to 200k :)

Thanks mate! Dividends were pretty big too, so I'm expecting a large jump for the August 1 update. Then I'll go and chase lexde (congrats!) in the next thread haha.

July Update:

N/W (minus house equity) rose £474.9 to £33,329.28.

Still plodding on.  Lower earnings due to COVID.  Done tons in the house (Joiners, Electricians, new sofa, new TV, new vacuum cleaner, paint, light fittings, new internal doors), so I'm very happy my N/W has managed to grow despite lower cash balances at the moment.

£6,700 to reach my goal of £40k, which means I'd have to increase by an average of £1,334 each month from now - which is going to be tough!

And congratulations @lexde !  You've flown through this race.

Portfolio broke 25000€ today :)
What might be suitable future milestones? 33, 50 and 75 on the road to 100?

Nice.

I guess it's good to have a lot milestones to keep motivated.  I use(d) the following milestones (in £s): 0, 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k, 75k, 100k, 150k (I'm too far away from anything higher than this to contemplate it right now).

Well done!!!
I am just nearing my 50k milestone, though markets have gone a bit south so it might take a little while.
I'm trying to tell myself that compounding even at this relatively little amount, will make the second 50k easier than the first 50k.

But for me, 40k was a milestone more than 33, even though 33 is obvs mathematically significant. There was just something about having 40 actual thousand pounds invested that made me think that holy shit, that is a massive number, this is real and it is really happening for me if I just keep working at it.

20 Dec 18 - 37,800
Mid March 2019 - 45,815
20 June 2019 - 50,890
Mid September 2019 - 57,608
15 December 2019 - 65,794
1 April 2020 - 71,465
15 May 2020 - 80,396
15 June 2020 - 85,996
1 July 2020 - 89,300
15 July 2020 - 90,232
1 August 2020 - 92,917

I had even bigger hopes for that one but the market tanked a tiny bit. Getting close to +3k is still a great fortnight. I was reasonable during my holidays, everything is ticking along nicely. Getting very very close to a personal milestone (1 year of current before tax income) and then onwards to 100k!

Finally found a buyer for my motorbike, although I didn't get that much for it. In the selling process a lot of minor issues with it became apparent that dropped the price a bit. Performance review is scheduled for next week and there were already hints of my pay needing to reflect increased responsibilites at work, so a raise might be happening. Due to Corona I only suspect a minor increase though. Aspirational goal for end of 2020: 30k €.

It'll be close after mortgage is paid tomorrow, but I should be up to just over $52,000 which as of right now is my salary so a big milestone in my opinion to have 1 full year's salary!

6-01-20       19255    66.5k
7-01-20         20358     68.4k

I broke 20k! I might actually get to 25k invested before the end of the year.

8-01-20.    21993.    70k

Still growing. I'm guessing I'll eventually level out with NW being ~60-70k over invested. I owe less than 10k on the house at this point.

Oct 2019- $1000
Nov 2019- $2340
Dec 2019- $2779
Jan 2020- $5658
Feb 2020- $5539
Mar 2020- $5024
Apr 2020- $5444
May 2020- $8302  (wherein I finally got some of unemployment)
June 2020- $20864 (wherein I got more unemployment plus the EIDL)
mid July 2020- $31724 (got the rest of the backpay, woohoo!)
7/31/20- $33340

Good: stashed some more money, bought gold/silver/miners which have gone up like 20% this month.  About half of funds are from bank bonuses that paid out finally.  Work picked up a lil.

Bad: Got the dreaded 261 code on PUA, my unemployment has been halted until who knows when.  Owed about $2k there as of today.  Tax refund I was told 3 weeks ago would be here by end of month, that's another missing $2k.  Also was hoping to do another bank bonus but had to open by today, and opening it got held up, no dice.

The awesome!  Just got hired for a job I applied for MARCH. 27. and had phone interview for APRIL. 3.   Apparently it took that long for them to feel comfortable with their PPE policies (it's medical/hands on) and the biz to take a new person on.  No one bothered to tell me they were even still considering me so it was a big surprise.  I also had another interview yesterday- it's possible that I can do both new jobs and my old job (and then I have my non-existent music gigs, plus deliveries on the side).  IDK what I will do yet, I have until Tues to decide my schedule at new job #1 (new job #2 is technically a brand new biz, tho the hours I know).  I'm really unsure what to do but grateful for all the opportunity right now.

Thought I would introduce myself to the challenge, thanks to a tip from @JCGreen .

Have investments totaling ~$45,000 between DW and I, split in a few Roth IRA's and a 401k.

I haven't seen anyone else mention, so I'll ask - I'm not including any equity in my home, right? Purchased for $248K and have $168K in equity, but I'm not counting that as part of my NW for SWR calculations.

Hope to be able to make some serious headway here and reach this goal by 12/2020!

As of 6/1/2020, we are at $93K invested. I totally forgot that I had posted here a year ago. Honestly, I thought that hitting 100K by 12/2020 would be a long shot when I posted it, but I'll hit it in another month. INSANE. I can't believe how well it works just to be on autopilot - we have our automatic investments every month, and I haven't even thought about it in, well, like a year, judging by my last post.

Just wanted to say keep at it everyone!
As of 7/31, we hit ~$107K invested. NICE!!!! See you all in the race from 100 to 250K

Geez. 3-paycheck month and the market took off. It took me 1.5 years to save to my first $5k and I just accumulated that in a (very lucky) month.

I didn't invest everything because I've had to set aside a small moving fund, but hopefully I will be able to invest some of that later.

I've accepted a much better paid job that I will start in late autumn! I will be working from home at least the first couple of months, my new employer is very careful about the pandemic. I was going to start my last term in grad school this autumn and they've asked me to defer a year. In exchange they'll pay my tuition next year. It's a super steady job so it's exactly what I need at this point in time. Also when we do go back to the office, the commute is less than 10 minutes by bike!

Thanks @Tinker ! I will certainly go back to uni next year. I was supposed to have graduated already but it took a bit longer due to the pandemic. I've put in too much effort already to not complete my degree - 2 years of studying evenings and weekends next to my job. Plus I'll get a pay raise when I graduate. I'm going to start with 6 months of intense internal training so I do understand why they don't want me to take evening classes on top of that.

CONGRATS @Imma - that's fantastic news! Things are definitely moving in the right direction for you. I'm so happy for ya:).
It sounds like a great company and an excellent opportunity.
You'll be glad that you deferred grad school for a year - make sure you get it in writing that they will pay tuition next year.
10 min commute is a huge bonus too:) - well done!

Congrats @lexde - you've really picked up speed. Maybe I'll see you in another year - in the next thread.

What?? This feels insane and impossible, but my spreadsheet promises it's true.

I did receive a small, unexpected advance on my year-end bonus this month -- I continue to be very grateful to have employers who are working hard to make sure their employees are cared for during a tough time -- but most of this increase is due to market gains, which of course might vanish any day. Still, it's wild.

I do not include my savings to buy expensive "fun items" like new cellphone, electronics etc. as it is not very big. My checking account is also not included as it has money I will likely spend this month. Goal for 2020 is to make it to $75K.

Decided to make my first post here, as I find this thread very motivating.
Started reading MMM in January, 2019:

2019-Jan: $9500
2020-Jan: $20,000
2020-Jul: $45,000

So far on track to break 50k in October.
