Spreadsheet updated with columns A-E. I have made it to the $60K range (please continue on an upward trend - crosses fingers and toes).

Hi all. Recent graduate from the 0-10k race, 100k seems a very long way off but I'm sure I'll get there, I think a reasonable target is 2020.

April £1250
May £2515
June £3841
July £6774 / $8705
August £8916 / $11597 !

Welcome aboard ClickHappy!  There are lots of folks here just starting on that journey to $100k.

Great job everyone -- keep plugging along, and before you know it that big, solid $100k foundation of your financial 'house' will be built.  And from there it goes faster and faster.  Onward!

I did it! I set myself a little challenge to get to 10x NW compared to 2 years ago, when I started tracking. Really happy with that. It's also great to see that snowball getting bigger. First year my NW increased 18k, second year it increased 31k. I'm so glad I joined this thread, it's so motivating to see my own progress and really fun to see how everyone else is doing!

Currently at 86k but I'm going to buy a cruise and get my wisdown tooths out so it's going to go down next month :(. 78k to 86k since january !

Did the cruise (2250$), got my wisdom tooths out (1350$). NW is now at 87k.  Got a second job so I'm hoping I'll be able to increase my income a bit.

I'm now at 94k, woa, that's great ! Too  bad around 3k is for my wedding next year .

Only a small bump this month.  I blame it on lack of focus and a trip to Michigan.  I am going to buckle down and get over the hump next month.  I'm ready to graduate to a new thread!

I only really track my 401k balance and only for the last couple years.

In my 20s I put something like 10% in and thought I was doing great (better than average), we also tackled 1 student loan, 2 car loans, credit card debt, and bought our 1st home (now a rental).  For the last several years I have only been putting 6% (plus a company match) into the 401k, while we saved for a wedding, down payment on a house, started a family, went to 1 steady income and 1 self employed income, and are continuing the last student loan.  We are still working on paying off my last student loan and building the self employed income but I am really hoping to hit $100k in the 401k sometime in 2018, if the self employed income starts taking off and we can contribute more to an IRA I will add that into the calculations too.

I did do a quick back of the envelope net worth calculation that included debt, primary and rental home value, and vehicle value and that put net worth around $150k, but since I don't regularly track that stuff I don't want to join the next group until the retirement accounts are above $100k.

                    401K          IRA          Total
Dec 2013:   $43,660     $0           $43,660
Dec 2014:   $52,943     $0           $52,943
Dec 2015:   $55,622     $0           $55,622
Dec 2016:   $68,870     $700       $69,570
Feb 2017:   $74,784      $700       $75,484
 4/11/17:    $76,834     $1002      $77,836
Apr 2017:   $78,946      $1026     $79,972
 5/24/17:    $80,007     $1040      $81,047
 6/05/17:    $82,048     $1057      $83,105
 7/21/17:    $84,508     $1075      $85,583
 8/02/17:    $85,737     $1075      $86,812
 9/01/17:    $86,830     $1079      $87,909

Still trying to decide if we are going to divert anything from 401k to savings for medical/maternity leave yet (or to add a some extra to finish off my last SL).  The IRA isn't grow very much but that is because we leave the SE money sitting in an savings account until tax time and we determine how much we owe.  Maybe that is a bad plan and we should store it in the IRA?

01/17 - 9,926
02/17 - 15,869
03/17 - 21,618
04/17 - 22,738
05/17 - 29,255

07/17 - 40,255
08/17 - 44,722
09/17 - 48,025

Good month but should have been better.  Took out 1k to start a business venture, my lease ran out on my car (thank god) but had to pay fees to get rid of it (btw never leasing again!), and bought a used car.  Still pretty good I would say.

2/1/2017 - ($6,832)
3/1/2017 -   $66
4/1/2017 - $ 6,298
5/1/2017 - $12,179
6/1/2017 - $17,418
7/1/2017 - $21,303
8/1/2017 - $28,136
9/1/2017 - $29,233

Not as good as I'd like, but I did have a week of vacation. I also went through and re-did when I measured my 401k, which led to an effective decrease, but will make monitoring easier from now on.

I'm crashing two threads and this will be my joint account. I like my personal one since it's easier to motivate myself then my wife, but it still nice seeing the change in combined NW/Investments which is what matters.

Combined 120k income

Hopefully graduate this thread by March.

Slow gains, but at least was a gain. Moved this month to a cheaper apartment, so will save $350 extra a month from that, but incurred some moving expenses/additional damage deposit. Also some ETF drops again. Ate out for lunch a lot-  patio season is something I suck at exercising my MMM muscles on..

Race from 10 to 100k!!
« Reply #1326 on: September 13, 2017, 02:27:24 AM »
April '17 £1250
May '17 £2515
June '17 £3841
July '17 £6774 / $8705
August '17 £8916 / $11597 !

September '17 £10,812

Still plugging away, savings automated so I just pop in to check on them for these updates.

Have been finding it easier to avoid takeaway and minimise restaurant visits, getting out of the habit! Buying less in general and shopping around for better deals on phone/internet etc. (Not switched yet though).

I'm due some overtime pay over next couple of months and my wife is getting a pay rise, hoping to knock a few months of the FI date.

I'm almost there. No debts and $98,490.29 invested as of EOB today.

Maybe twice that if you count my paid for condo, my paid for car, everything else I own, cash & checking account. If only I'd started earlier.

I actually didn't expect an increase, tiny as it is, considering the slight downturn in the market, a brand new bike and trips to Dublin and Disney. Gonna count it as a win!

I'm crashing two threads and this will be my joint account. I like my personal one since it's easier to motivate myself then my wife, but it still nice seeing the change in combined NW/Investments which is what matters.

Hello everyone! It is my first time posting in this thread, I just made by way over from the race to $10k thread which I just surpassed.

Here is a basic breakdown of the numbers as of the end of the day today:

Total Cash/Cash Equivalents: $31,642
Total Liabilities: $20,131

Net Worth: $11,511

Virtually all of my liabilities are student loans. I also have some minor balances on my credit cards, which I pay off monthly. I've been aggressively attacking the student loans (see my participation in the student loan challenge if curious) and have made steady progress.

As for asset composition,  20% are in checking accounts, 13% is in my HSA and 67% is in my 401k.

I'm looking forward to following everyone's progress. Good luck to us all!

So I’ve been semi-purposely MIA in this thread since May.  Took a big hit between moving to Alaska and being off rotation with my job.  I was planning to update this month anyway (since I just built back up to May $$ levels), but I just received an inheritance that’s been in limbo for nearly 2 years, so I got bumped up an extra ~10k. November is looking like the month I graduate!

Just rolled 50k last week with my paycheck.

Started at about 10k for the beginning of the year.  Getting to the "first" 100k is definitely a big motivation

Everyone keep up the good work!

Dec 2015:   $55,622     $0           $55,622
Dec 2016:   $68,870     $700       $69,570
 Feb 2017:   $74,784      $700       $75,484
   4/11/17:   $76,834     $1002      $77,836
 Apr 2017:   $78,946      $1026     $79,972
  5/24/17:    $80,007     $1040      $81,047
  6/05/17:    $82,048     $1057      $83,105

  8/02/17:    $85,737     $1075      $86,812
  9/01/17:    $86,830     $1079      $87,909
10/02/17:    $89,275     $1100      $90,375

I had a goal of $90k in the 401k by the end of the year, only $800 shy of that!!

Big increase this month mostly due to higher home valuation than in the past (+8500).  Been aggressive paying down debt and have increased our savings rate substantially.  Hope to keep the momentum rolling.

6/2015 - (~$12,000)
1/1/16 - ~$2,000
2/1/16 - $4,793
3/1/16 - $10,108
4/1/16 - $14,574
5/1/16 - $16,150
6/1/16 - $19,879
7/1/16 - $23,001
8/1/16 - $28,667
9/1/16 - $33,134
10/1/16 - $35,682
11/1/16 - $37,758
12/1/16 - $42,243
1/1/17 - $31,938 (replaced 17 year old car)
2/1/17 - $36,861
3/1/17 - $43,690
4/1/17 - $46,035
5/1/17 - $49,860
6/1/17 - $53,551
7/1/17 - $59,289
8/1/17 - $64,996
9/1/17 - $68,439
10/1/17 - $73,881

I have been fighting and clawing to save from being in negative net worth territory less than two years ago.  I can hardly believe I am on pace to exceed $80k by the end of the year barring stock market crash.  Even if it does crash though and pause/slow down progress, cheaper buying opportunities will be had!  Keep staying the course, everyone!
