Then, the State department, which had been coming after Ericsson, decides to leave Ericsson alone after that. All of this seems to be verified by multiple sources. But there's no evidence of quid pro quo? I mean, it isn't proof, I guess. But, if you agree that the payment was made, and that the State dept changed its approach to Ericsson subsequently, it seems pretty silly to me to deny that this was a bribe. And of course this is just the most egregious example, but there are others.
