"The things you own, end up owning you"
“You are not your job, you're not how much money you have in the bank. You are not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You are not your fucking khakis. You are all singing, all dancing crap of the world.”
"It is only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything"
"We buy things we don't need, to impress people we don't like"

"We're consumers. We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession. Murder, crime, poverty, these things don't concern me. What concerns me are celebrity magazines, television with 500 channels, some guy's name on my underwear. Rogaine, Viagra, Olestra.
Narrator: Martha Stewart.
Fuck Martha Stewart. Martha's polishing the brass on the Titanic. It's all going down, man. So fuck off with your sofa units and Strinne green stripe patterns."

This is all from the movie Fight Club, I encourage any of you who have not watched this movie to see it, and if you've only seen it once, watch it again. This movie is NOT about guys fighting, but very much about what MMM teaches us. It is by far one of the most brilliant movies I've ever seen and SO many people just didn't get it.
