I disagree, I buy Gillette. They are about $50 for 16 blades at Costco. They last me about 12 weeks a blade(I have daily, and have very course facial hair) so 3.6 years per pack at $50 or $1 a month... not worth worrying about
I am fascinated by this. I am a non-hairy woman (straight fair fine hair) and if I don't change my blade after, say, four uses, it starts ripping off my skin. My coarse-haired husband can use his for months, to the point it doesn't even look like a blade. I don't understand.
Maybe the difference isn't in amount of hair, but sensitivity of skin. My skin bleeds/sunburns/chafes if you look at it in the wrong way.
You need to dry your razor off after using it. There is a pretty famous radio show host named Clark Howard who talks about using the same $1 disposable razor for a year and all he did was wipe it dry after he used it. The dryness of your razor is the most important part of keeping it sharp. Dry it with a towel (if you are a real bad-a you can dip it in alcohol) after you are done and don't keep it in the shower or out in the bathroom where the steam can get on it.
