So I've been looking at different ways to cut costs and one way I thought might be our health insurance. However, looking around these forums, I think we may already have a very good deal on ours. With a $2400 deductible, we get dental, vision, a $20 copay for doctor visits and a $750 HRA account, which is basically free money for medical expenses. This costs us $130/mo.
However, there is the higher deductible option, which would take the HRA away and leave us with an HSA option in it's place. It would obviously lower costs, but is it worth it? We're pretty healthy people, although I did have a health scare last year which involved going to the ER twice, so we were thankful for the $750 to go towards that.
What do you think? Should we stay with what we have, or switch it up and hope we won't really need it since we're "Mustachian" and we can afford a higher deductible.
