Donating CDs - valuation?

Hey all,
We are planning to donate a bunch of old cds and I was wondering how you guys value them. Do you generally just assume $1 per cd? Is it based on their overall condition?

I've always done $1 straight but its largely up to you, no one will hunt you down

When I donate to Goodwill I usually go in the store to see what similar items are selling for and claim that value. $1-2 for a CD sounds reasonable.

Turbo Tax has a donation calculator that will give a valuation on just about anything you donate. I was surprised that most of what I gave to Goodwill was given a much higher value than I would have used, but it seems to have passed IRS scrutiny.

I use H&R Block software and they too have a donation calculator that gives a valuation for you also. I'm surprised at the value that some used items are valued at so it does add up. Just remember to keep a list of things you donate so you don' t have to try to remember at tax time.
