I'll start.

My nomination for the best is @APowers' thread on keeping his grocery budget under $200 a month for a family of four.  It's a master class on grocery shopping -- with facts, figures, and photos.  No matter how you shop, how many you feed, and what you eat -- you can learn something from this.  https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/share-your-badassity/have-a-sub-$200month-grocery-budget/

What other great ones are out there?

Does it count if the thread was started before this year but was very active in 2018?

I haven't contributed anything because I don't feel qualified to add to the high-level discussion going on there, but I've really learned a lot from lurking on the Top Is In thread: https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/top-is-in/

My serious answer:  https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/share-your-badassity/i-beat-the-federal-government/msg2182528/#msg2182528

A great glimpse of what can be accomplished when someone has enough confidence in their financial situation to live according to their convictions.

hahaha -- I knew someone would bring up Top is In.  Seriously -- I loved @FIREby35's thread too!  Thanks for pointing that one out.

Here's another great one. @sammybiker's case study on trying to make $200k in equity in six months buying, renovating, and renting houses:

I had a baby this year and have been trying to simplify my house.  I love the "Getting Rid of Stuff" forum this year and have found it very motivating.

+1.  I've filled multiple boxes and bags of stuff to donate to Goodwill and I love feeling lighter after every trip!

This one.

Because of that thread I got my head out of the sand thinking I was doing the best that we could, and proceeded to save at least $250/mo for the last year.  Inspirational, reality based, thread.

I saved at least $3000 because of this thread.

Wow.

OK it's now 2019, but I want to put a word in for the humble but powerful thread started in November 2013 by MrsPete: https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/ask-a-mustachian/what-small-things-did-you-do-today-to-save-money/

Great stuff.

Agree!  I love that thread and look at it daily.  I also love LifeJoy's Cheap Things That Make You Happy thread:  https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/welcome-to-the-forum/cheap-things-that-make-you-happy/

Both of those threads are a refreshing small-focus look at day to day mustachianism.

I enjoyed this thread a lot:

Unfortunately, it didn't receive a follow up for some time.

The invest in your marriage/relationship thread: https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/off-topic/invest-in-your-marriage/msg2214800/#msg2214800

Some great advice there, for all types of relationships. Warren Buffett's measure of success, "Do the people you care about love you back?" We all know this, it's not really about the money.

"Top is In" is a perennial all-star.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
