FB Marketplace and Rentals
« on: February 06, 2024, 11:59:37 AM »
So usually I rent my houses via Zillow. I used to use craigslist, but it is not nearly as popular as it once was.

I keep a FB account basically for access to the marketplace. I have maybe 4 friends. Just the minimum to keep it active. I share nothing, click around every so often. I went to post my rental and immediately got kicked off market place. I tried to have it "reviewed" but its hard to find a customer service rep that can help when you don't do any business with the company.

Well I set up a second account, posted some homebrew stuff for sale (let me know if you want it for free!) Just to make sure they know I'm not a scammer, made a few posts, shared a picture etc. Then about a week later I tried to post my house again. Immediate ban from marketplace.

What the hell is going on?! Can anyone shed light on this?

Sounds like Facebook is basically run by skynet anymore so there is no one to even talk too that could address the issue.

My FB account is little used as well. I just ask my partner to post for me.

I hate Facebook. When you figure out what the hell is going on please let me know.

I’ve set up two business pages for Hobby groups, and I swear to God, the functionality changes from week to week.

FB marketplace is rife with rental scams. I'd say it was on the order of 75% of the listings when we were apartment hunting a few months ago. I'm not surprised if they started shutting down all rental properties from accounts without a lot of history.
