I was hoping for my first shut down as a government employee, we'll see if it comes to fruition.

Yeah this is about as perfect a post as they come.

Well, part of the gov is funded through mid January and part early Feb, so I'm guessing the one that runs out first will shut down, but who knows.

I really did not foresee the new House speaker being willing to punt when the last House speaker got canned after driving a very hard bargain. Perhaps his first order of business was to flex muscles against the only people who could can him.
