In that order? No carb load after?

Is it common to carb load after?  I understand his carb levels might be depleted, but I thought they were important before, but not so important after?  Particularly if you aren't planning any major events in the upcoming days.
Commonly quoted for endurance folks tends to be 4:1 ratio of carbs to protein taken right after prolonged exercise to promote recovery. I don't know that all the various iterations of carb/fat/protein have been directly compared he'd to head.

That but also fasting immediately after a big enduro event seems not ideal mentally as well. I really don't know much about cardio recovery though,  my only cardio activities are HIIT or rock climbing (which is somewhat hiit anyway). I was under the impression that cardio needs carbs as well.

Tuyop - those "ideal" numbers are bullshit. I'm 6' 190 and I don't consider myself anywhere near heavy, except around the other rock climbers and bikers. That gets checked against my lifting friends who say 6' 198 is minimum to get above my completely stuck 1150 total.

Dude you could have just skipped lunch, that's what I do in your situation. You don't shrivel up and die if you go four hours without food.

I do.

Well it depends how swole you are, really. I have a bit over a 1050lb total so I'm not a small guy. I think the "ideal" weight (based on the calculator I used) would be me at like 5% bodyfat, and based on the photo below, I'm sitting at about 12-15%BF.

Though I don't know where that guy's veins are.

Awesome! Glad to see someone referencing leangains. This kind of helps my argument too. If you IF (intermittent fasting) it's pretty easy to still be hungry after a burrito bowl because you aren't snacking alllll day.

Yeah I've never felt less like a slave to food than I have since starting intermittent fasting. I've done a few 24-hour fasts now to keep my weekly calories in line and it's incredibly liberating. I can't recommend IF enough.

I'm biking a century this weekend (if I can fix my bike), and then trying a 48 hour fast.

In that order? No carb load after?

I love IF for cutting, but for even a nominal weight gain I get stomach aches trying to eat all needed cals in such a short period. Berkham seems to be almost a competitive eater with what he can put down in a sitting.

Am I the only one who looked at 6'2 175 and thought "holy crap this guy needs to add some weight" ? I think I'm understanding why my food bill feels so durn high reading this site lol.

Yeah I don't roll with that carb stuff.

6'2 and 175 is pretty skinny, but I'm 6' and apparently my "ideal" weight is like 168 so I don't know (I weigh 181 and probably have a bit too much fat on me).

What's your total, SethBahookey?

I'm 175 @ 7-8% body fat right now maybe less.. I'm pretty lean. I was like 183 or so back in February but did an 8 week cut so I could get some abs!

I might do a bulk so I can work my way up to 190ish and cut down to 185, but we'll see. Not sure how bulky I want to get at this point.

I'd post a pic but I don't want to turn this into some vain bodybuilding thread haha
