As I was posting my other question about people not intending to pay you back, Frankies Girl sparked this topic. What's your worst, "God, I'm stuck paying $$$, I'm never getting it back or wanted to be in this damn situation in the first place!" Let me explain.
A couple years back I had this one beautiful, materialistic friend that I reconnected with. We went to the same middle school! I noticed her habits were crazy as she'd spend the last of any leftover paycheck on Louboutins. So, it was her birthday. My other friend was trying to plan something and asking me for ideas, etc. We eventually ended up at a restaurant that bday girl chose, the Forge in South Beach. Google it! She arrived 45 minutes late (this was typical of her) and 15 minutes before the restaurant was to close! She had two gfs with her that ordered drinks, appetizers, etc. the works. I ordered something small, no apps and I don't drink. The bill came and of course, her gfs suggested we split the bill (that is another topic all together; one that I've conquered) which amounted to like $200 per person among the 6 of us including bday girl (not that she was paying).
I thought I was going to faint when the two gfs suggested we split it. AND I wasn't going to ruin her bday by complaining that I only ordered barely $35 worth of food incl tip and tax even though I was borderline desperate! Bday girl's brother and my pharmacist friend paid the entire bill; they offered! I dodged a bullet there, BUT still gave them $20 each afterwards because I'm just not that kind of person! To put things into perspective the Forge charges $9 for glass bottled water. It was probably tap water in that bottle for all I know! We're no longer friends. She's driving herself into an early grave of debt on shoes and clothes (literally and another story). We have nothing in common.
