Posting so I can find this to listen to later. Just read the term "new American dream" (in Radical Homemaker) for the first time earlier today.
What is this 'new American dream'?
Er, the topic of the TED talk linked to in the OP?
But just in case that was a serious question, this quote from Radical Homemaker (taken in turn from survey done by the Center for the New American Dream) seems to be what it's about: "86% feel the phrase "more is better" no longer characterizes the American dream; rather, they crave more of what matters."
