Why MMM compels me!
« on: December 30, 2014, 01:12:26 PM »
MMM is attracting more and more attention for his alternative lifestyle design.  You may have been brought here by a random web search, a friend, Forbes, CNN, or another blogger.  What keeps you here?

Truthfully, MMM brought me here, but it is the MMM Forum that keeps me here.

Anti-consumption all the way.

In addition, there are always really interesting discussions going on in the forums. There's a certain amount of base knowledge here that doesn't exist in non-mustachians.

I want a God Damned Boat Load of money, and the simple investment strategies combined with some of the minor optimizations are the best way for me to get there now.

I was 80% there when I found the blog.  It just helped me refine my approach for the last leg of the journey. When I started, there was very little in the way of info on early retirement, now there is an entire community of knowledge, support, and experience.  A game changer for sure.

yes, when I first found this website through another blog, the reality of my self-created situation was tough.  Felt pretty stupid even though I  had been doing this 'right' according to more mainstream personal finance advice.

I really enjoy this forum though and that is what keeps me coming back.  Lots of interesting things to think about and try out.  I rarely notice when MMM has a new blog post unless it creates some controversy here.  Nice following other forum people too.
