Who Wants to Be a Moderator?
« on: February 13, 2012, 10:54:55 AM »
Are you a dedicated MMM reader who would like to help out more? Send me a reply on this thread (or privately via the main MMM contact form) and volunteer! I'll give you an all-access pass to this forum so you can approve new users or block naughty ones, as well as answering questions, deleting inappropriate ones, and building your rank in the Mustachian Army as it takes over the world.

Suggested Job Qualifications:
- semi-addicted to this blog and forum (you find yourself checking it at least three times per week)
- fairly well trained in Mustachianism (you've read at least fifty articles and/or find everything I write to be self-evident)
- you enjoy reading and writing

thanks!

Will I be granted Authority to Delete Spam?

Because then I'm totally down with that.

(Edit:  I also want Indemnity to Engage in Financially Based Face Punching.)

PM sent.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

I'd be happy to contribute to the forums as a moderator. I've definitely got the addiction to the blog part covered! Can't wait to participate in the discussion and in the face punching.

I volunteer to be a junior 'stache mod, as I am frequently on my computer and oftentimes late into the night.

I find myself checking it at least daily and if there isn't a new post saying "Damn you MMM and your hording of your knowledge!".

Okay, who hid all the posts?

Affirmative!  (3+ times per day lately...)

- fairly well trained in Mustachianism (you've read at least fifty articles and/or find everything I write to be self-evident)

I read all the posts, then went back and read them again to read the great comments.  As  for my training in Mustachianism, I'm basically a slightly more refined SWAMI version of Mr. Money Mustache, hence the Super Sweet pSeudonym.

- you enjoy reading and writing

I happen to enjoy both.  On the reading front, the library should have 'A Guide to The Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy' ready today.

The only thing that won't be moderate is my moderator modality.  I'm in if you have more room.

Thanks Everyone!

I have now signed up a few initial moderators from volunteers that were some of the longest and most active readers.

I think it will be a pretty easy job, so I don't want to over-staff the positions. But we'll see how those people do - if they want to sign any more helpers up, they can let me know and make suggestions. Also, if you find you are really fond of a certain discussion area and REALLY REALLY want to be a moderator, send me a private message and I may be able to add more.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
