I have enjoyed serving communities and working in different service industries from restaurant service to military service. I am currently in a program receiving the education to provide hospital service as a radiologic technologist.

Service industry careers typically are not the most profitable or highest earning careers. I believe the mustachian philosophy aligns with mine. Someone said "Do what you love, the money will follow." Enjoying your job or career will always be more important than the financial reward for selling your time.

Which industries or career fields are considered service industries? My mechanic provides a service by completing the repairs on my vehicle that I can not do on my own. Does direct contact with a client or customer become the determining factor?

One of my favorite jobs was working in a medical clinic that served mostly lower income people.  Most of them had health issues so they came in once a month or once every three months.  You got to know them.  We were providing them with care that they couldn't afford to get anywhere else and they were appreciative.  Except the ones who only came in trying to get pain pills and left in a huff when they didn't.  The clinic closed down so I had to transfer to an office job.  The pay was the same, but I still miss the clinic.
