I did over the summer while vacationing, with a total lack of competence, experience or knowledge, but great enthusiasm.

And had a great time paddling in a shallow bay off Lake Michigan with my step-son.

I just got a free canoe.  I got it in the summer so I haven't used it yet.

I canoe.  I usually do an annual trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern MN.

Alas, I have no pictures as I have never taken a camera with me.

I still use my parents Alumacraft, which they purchased in the early 70's.  Best canoes ever built!

I'm going to say this as gently as possible.  You don't have to start a new thread every time you want to post a photo from your blog.  Maybe just one thread called "here are a bunch of photos from my blog?"

Examples:
https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/share-your-badassity/bike-social!/
https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/welcome-to-the-forum/backpackers-hikers-or-canoe-expeditionists/

https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/welcome-to-the-forum/building-our-summer-homeyacht/

Haha!!! Grumpypants of the day!!

So you're upset because I'm posting relevant posts on relevant subjects but including pictures from my blog?  That makes no sense to me.

I could see you being upset if I was posting spam or links to my site that I made money from, but the first person to mention my (anonymous, non income generating) blog is you.

If  we going to show people that the mustachian lifestyle can be very enjoyable and fulfilling, photos of cool things having to do with it are not a bad way to go about it. Being a grumpy mustachian gives credence to the statement "I could never give up my luxuries- look how grumpy it made that guy"

:D

I might next time.  One skill I have always wanted to be better at was picture taking.  I find it hard to enjoy the moment, while also worrying about the correct angle for a picture.  I have friends who this talent comes naturally, and they take amazing pictures.  You seem to have this skill, nice that you;'ve been sharing some of it on the forums here.  I also lurked your blog after the grumpy man mentioned it, more great photos!

We usually do a rule of no electronics: watches, phones (although they wouldn't be of much use), gps etc... The one year we actually brought a camera we didn't take a picture.  That year there actually was one picture I did want to take.  It was of a bear in our camp, but alas the bear was between me and the pack with the camera.

I think you misunderstand. It's not about the photos or your blog. I can easily see how dragoncar and others could be annoyed by 8 threads in less than a week by the same person with largely the same subject matter. For example these three posts on canoes would probably have been better off as one single post (probably in Off Topic at that, yes I know everything we do is related to how great Mustachianism is etc. etc., but really it's just pictures of the outdoors)

Combining threads adds value by gathering responses in one place which builds discussion, and helps reduce clutter to make that discussion easier to find if needed later. Plus you'd piss off fewer people, which, although not totally in your control, is partially in your control and easy to do even if you don't agree with it. We do try and keep this an agreeable place, after all.

I can buy all of that, even iff I feel its about the silliest thing in the world to get pissed about. Much better worded and explained than old grumpy pants original posting!

I am excited about my lifestyle and the outdoors and figured that people here would be interested in my perspective on the lifestyle - as I am very interested in others takes on it. Which it seems is the very point of a forum? I am a visual guy and so I like to see photos of practice in action. It didn't even cross my mind that something as simple as that could upset a persons day! (Which also makes me think they could use a little less internet and a little more real life time)

I will take the hint and cease with posting photos because it's not my intent to anger anyone over the great outdoors, my intent was exactly the opposite.  iIhave no other motive,  so please delete any of my offensive threads.

I will say adios with a borrowed quote from MMM thats a bit reworked :)

Guys: Sohcrates is not stealing your women. He’s not taking over the tribe, withholding food, or compromising your reproductive success in any other way. He’s just a random guy sitting there typing some shit into the computer. He has only one woman,  and he doesn’t even consume all that much of our shared resources. That leaves more for you. There is no threat here. Only an opportunity to raise your own status if you go out and do some more reading on the matter.

Cheers!

Please do not cease!  Just maybe move to Off Topic, and do fewer thread starts, as was suggested.

Oh goodness sakes that's not what I meant at all.

I think everybody likes seeing your pictures and would like you to stay, if you don't mind

Right, I like your pictures.  But the threads are duplicative.  I'm a little worried that you may have more photos of your bike than your wife ;-)

Oh, that's easy to understand, thanks! No need to get all whack a mole on me ;)

Do not fear! My wife  does not feel neglected, I'm sure if there were such a thing as a photo taking restraining order, she would have served me with it many years ago.

I'll curb my posting enthusiasm, but before I do, heres a parting shot of wife in  canoe
