Where did my stock certificates end up Edward Jones
« on: May 19, 2021, 09:30:42 PM »
I am just remembering that around 2008 I used Edward Jones for my retirement and the advisor told me to bring in my stock certificates (I had some random stocks) and they would store them for me? This is so long ago and then that advisor retired and another one contacted me to say she took over his accounts. I went in to meet with her and felt very uncomfortable then started reading here and had all of my Edward Jones accounts transferred to Vanguard. But now I have no idea what happened to those stock certificates? And now that other person is gone too. I still get statements for those stocks. now we are setting up a trust and they are asking for the certificates. Does anybody have any idea what would have happened? Those statements are coming from the companies, not Edward Jones. Help?

Even if the stock certificates have been lost, you can get replacements - https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/07/lost_share_certificate.asp

Thank you for the link. I think they said they were making the certificates electronic so that makes some sense!

You're welcome! The good news is that either way, you won't lose any money.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
