The funny thing is, if they had stuck around rather than blowing up and nuking their accounts, I think they'd have come around.

Cause there have been other ridiculous posters (not QUITE as bad as them, but close) that are still on here, but quite a bit less ridiculous than when they first posted, and somewhat more Mustachian.

JoeT is doing pretty good.  He got what he wanted out of this place and is enjoying life. You have to realize that a lot of the MMMisms that are pushed down everyone's throats are not necessarily the "best way" to living your life, having someone tell you over and over why "you" live your life "wrong" just gets tiring.

You know, I kind of think that's a bogus excuse. Anyone is free to take what's helpful to them and ignore the rest. No need to take it personally. Besides, once FI/FIRE is achieved, I feel anyone can spend their money on whatever the hell they want.

Watch this: next week we are buying a 2014 Venza XLE V-6 with 25k miles for about 20k cash. It will replace my beloved 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, which has about 140k miles on it. Yeah, the van is still almost "new" by some MMM standards, but DH is the one who does all the repairs on it and he says it's time to sell it before really big things start to break. The Venza isn't the most economical of cars, but it's the one that seems best suited for when we need to haul our family of four adult-size humans on long drives. The long drives are to get to/from our rental properties, so some of the cost is tax deductible. Since DH walks to work and I'm retired, it won't kill us as it won't be a commuter car. Is it considered a mustachian vehicle? Not at all. Do I care? Hell, no!

Then I go through phases where I have stuff going on at work, or something else online that grabs my interest, and I hardly come on here at all. I hope it's just a technical glitch or something.  scrubby said in her blog comments two days ago that she's travelling with very sporadic internet access.  There is a new blog post dated today.  Hopefully she is just having an adventure and will be back.  She is a unique, wise, caring, and very beloved member of this forum.

There have been posts here recently from Scrubby, but I think she really wants to make something of her book - the last post I have seen from her was about the book. I see it as a very important part of her - she's created this book to help downtrodden people, and I think she really wants to concentrate on getting it out there. If you miss her, and have a brilliant idea about how to get it out there, I'm sure she would be really pleased to hear your ideas. All that I have read from her over the years has given me the idea that these people are very important to her, so it's not about making herself famous, but about helping poor people.

As to ST, she's really been on my mind. Just today it occurred to me to wonder if she somehow got banned. I know there were other members who knew her IRL. If you're one of them and reading this, please tell her she's deeply missed.

Alas, dagiffy1 did get banned, because he totally lost his temper politically. Makes me sad, but life goes on, I suppose. At least I have his email. He is alive and making steady progress on killing his ASL (Abominable Student Loan).
