I’ve accumulated a ton of these through the years. Someone out there needs them, just not me.

I’d rather not throw them out. Any options / suggestions?

Particularly good timing. Often places in various cities will have "back to school supplies" drives to benefit disadvantaged kids. I actually heard Staples doing that on the radio yesterday. Now, presumably they want you to buy new from them to donate, but I can't imagine, used but usable binders being turned away.

I'm not sure about the last part if that was in jest or not.... but presumably they won't be issuing you a $1.50 receipt for the reduced value of 20 ten yo binders. Straight light depreciation or exponential?

I don’t know about getting a tax receipt, but I would just post them on the Craigslist free section. Someone is bound to want them.

I see various office/school supplies at my local Goodwill store. You could try donating there. If they accept them you can claim a tax deduction for the price you see similar items being sold for at the thrift shop.

Goodwill, Salvation Army and Savers.  All would take these and give you a receipt for taxes.

Drop them off at the local school.

These things aren't worth more than maybe $1-5.  Just donate them..  it's probably not worth your time to try to sell them.  If you happen to be going on vacation to a 3rd world country, preferably bring them there to be donated since they probably need them far more than ppl in your locale.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
