What kind of apps / website tools would you find useful?
« on: July 30, 2019, 04:40:39 AM »
I'm curious to know if there are any apps or websites that Mustacheans would find useful. :)

I've found Excel the most useful of them all, as have many others.

There are also various calculators and estimating tools online for things like working out how long it would take to FIRE, safe withdrawal rates, risk of running out, etc. And tax calculators are also very handy.

Being a programmer I couldn't resist rolling my own app, specifically, an integrated calorie and price tracker mobile web app, which I've used on-the-go to keep expenses and weight down.

I'm feeling the creative itch again and looking for a problem to scratch it on. So I thought I'd throw it open to the Mustachean community.

What digital tools do you already find useful? ̄And are there any tools you wish existed that don't exist yet?

I love Ebates and Ibotta for rebates on items I would have purchased anyway. Google Sheets is a great method for budget tracking for us as we can both have immediate access to the budget categories, remaining balances, and expenses.

Here's one I built myself, because none of the commercial money tracking products really met my specifications.

A version of this I don't have to develop and maintain myself would be amazing :-)

I personally spend at least half my waking hours working in Excel for a living, so that's a tool-of-choice.
