My husband and I alternately got up with my youngest who did not sleep through the night until 2 years old!  I sometimes would lie and say I had already gotten up, he just slept through it!  So then he would get up and I would get some desperately needed sleep.  He needed sleep too, but I was just that selfish!  I figured it was survival of the fittest (or most cunning)!

In an effort to get this thread back on topic, I submit this somewhat lame example.

A co-worker was leaving for a new job a few months ago, and he was training me to take over his duties. He copy/pasted *everything*! It could be two digits and the guy copy/pasted it. Not a bad thing if it saves time or increases accuracy, which is true for a lot of what we do, but I watched him take 3-4 tries to highlight the full/correct text before he could copy/paste two digits. He wasn't an excellent typer, but he wasn't a hunt-and-peck typer either, it would have been much faster to type "15" than to watch him struggle to highlight the right portion of the text. The worst part? He would copy/paste typos and errors because it was "easier" than actually typing it correctly. Now I'm the one cleaning up the errors he copy/pasted. ::SMH::

Also, we didn't formalized it into an acronym (COL), but my husband and I do the same thing. We look at the other person and say "I have a cat" and we both know it's completely taboo to disturb the spoiled little thing. :-)

Jexy, thanks for getting this back on track.  Another lazy thing I did was compose a post for this thread about this other lazy thing that DH & I do.  The internet ate it & I never re-posted.  I may never; I'm that lazy!

I retired at 39 just so I wouldn't have to work the next 25 to 30 years. Talk about *lazy*

(I'm 46 now. So far so good)

I also buy the same socks in quantity so I don't have to deal with matching up pairs and such.  I just grab two socks and go.  My last purchase was a 10 pair pack of socks from Sam's Club.  They are made in the USA as a bonus.  If a sock gets a hole or is otherwise unusable I throw that sock away.  Once I get down three or four pair I buy new socks and donate the remaining good ones to Goodwill or other charity.  I suppose a true mustachian would not give away any socks and just keep them all in rotation until they were unusable.

I never thought of this as being lazy.

use the socks with holes for garage or shop rags, or cut them into cleaning strips! They work well for that, and if you're just going to throw them out anyway, might as well use them to clean up something gross first.

Good to know I'm not the only one who buys identical socks in bulk!
When I need socks I buy ~20 pairs of identical socks and just throw out individual socks whenever they get holes, until I have so few left that I give up and buy a new pack of socks.
I always try to buy similar ones though, so I can wear the old ones with the new ones and it won't be too annoying for my particular variant of OCD...

Old socks get used up as dog toys in my house.:D

I have all the same socks too, all black socks, knickers and bras, to make life easier.:)

Going to fish some old socks out of the trash right now.

Lazy people:

My neighbors drive to the community pool that is about 300 steps from their front door. On many occasions, I have seen them take separate cars. One of them swims laps, presumably for his health. They also drive the trash/recycling from the house to the end of the driveway.

We lived in an apartment complex a few years ago. From our building to the laundromat it was 120 feet. The guy upstairs walked down stairs, loaded his laundry into his trunk, started the car, drove to the parking space on the other side of the parking lot, got his laundry out and walked into the laundromat. He drove back to the spot he was originally in after he started his load.

A guy on my street "walks" his dog by driving beside it in the car ... grrrr!

I've been married almost 8 years but still haven't taken my husband's last name. Just seems like such a hassle!
Maybe I'll change it at the 10 year mark... but probably not. Lol

At the house across the private driveway from us, there is a red painted curb (no parking zone, firelane) which is intended for fire trucks to do a 3-point turn and exit the dead-end (hammerhead) driveway in case of fire.  It also allows the 2 other houses on the dead-end shared driveway to exit their garages and pull out more easily in reverse.  When someone parks in the red zone, it disrupts everything and everyone is inconvenienced by the idiot who parks there.  Well, pretty much every day, someone visiting or living in that house parks in the red zone.  We've lived here 8 years.

Parking in the red zone saves that driver about 10ft of walking because the unpainted curb is just 10ft ahead of the red painted curb.  My oh my, that is friggin lazy.  10 feet.

My biggest weakness is gas station food.  It's so unhealthy, but very convenient.

I've had a few times where I've packed lunch for work, but chose to pick up fast food or gas station food instead of eating my lunch.

It's a waste of $5-$8 and I literally have my lunch in the work fridge.

I was giving my dogs their worm medicine wrapped in some cream cheese and a bit of cheese fell onto the floor and I got them to lick it up so I didn't have to go and get a cloth.:0

I train all my dogs to understand that once they are sitting at my feet, after being told to come, a tap of my foot means that there is a "treat" located right in front of my shoe.  Ice cubes, food bits, little plops of yogurt, all good.  They reliably and surgically clean the scene of the accident. It's only right, for all the care, feeding and love they get, they at least should pretend to be productive and useful.

HA!  I have on occasion used my cat as a convenient, absorbent, and recyclable device for wiping up minor spills such as coffee rings or sloshed drinks!   A medium sized cat soaks up as much as several paper towels.  The spill is gone and the cat was going to lick their fur anyway.  So the cat has to spend some time licking their fur and ingests a little caffeine or beer, no real harm, they sleep all day anyway.   Cats are also handy for dusting keyboards and other delicate electronics.   it's a win-win.  And as you said it is the least that the cat can do, to make themselves a little useful in return for all the care that I give them.

15 years here, and we still haven't gotten around to buying rings.
