I think this is the holy grail of life success.  Not just FIRE, but getting paid years, if not decades, for not showing up for work, and getting an award for loyalty & dedication in the process!

There are days my work feels like this man...like today.  Just woke up, will do my morning routine, and then go get some lunch, and then enjoy a nice day out and about.  Life is sweet when you are FI but you can't give up a sweet job being paid to do whatever you want.

Yea I'm rubbing it in. :)

Once I had a manager who paid so little attention to me for a long time that I considered to stay home for a couple of weeks. I think he might not have noticed. Maybe my co-workers would have. I wasn't brave enough to test it out for real...

At my current work, official retirement age is 67 and early retirement is 62. From that age you can claim it.

I have a category of indirect colleagues who have to do very concentrating work. At 60 they are considered too old for this work. A few of them can become trainers and managers, but the rest of the 60 year olds are sent home and get paid to not work until they are 62 and can take out their own pension. Seems like a good deal to me.

Not bad at all!!

I once had an uber driver who worked from home all day, doing the typical bureaucratic type of work with little human interaction.  Then he drove for Uber after "work" to get out of the house and get some human interaction.

Getting paid to stay home is not too shabby, if you have freedom to do what you please.

Me...I'm retired in my mind even though I love what I do... per this article from MMM  https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2011/04/30/weekend-edition-retire-in-your-mind-even-if-you-love-your-job/

Work is a lot more fun when you're "retired"!!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
