Verizon Smart Rewards
« on: January 01, 2017, 12:10:31 PM »
So I am finally dealing with getting my cell phone cheaper. In the process I notice I have 192,000 Verizon "smart rewards" points.  Are these good for anything???

Nope.

They were certainly good for Verizon's pockets, though.

I, too, have thousands of points in my account and have never been able to 'spend' them on anything. Most useless rewards program ever.

I got a free WSJ subscription for 12 months plus a good amount of free subscriptions to various magazines from smart rewards. I also get 10% off gift cards to CVS, llbean and TJX.

Well that article about what it's tracking on you is disturbing. more so because I never consciously signed up. I just logged in to pay my bill one day and there it was. It looks like somewhere in paperless billing you get signed up? I must have agreed in some fine print I missed. Grrrrr - Guess I'll have to go see how to kill that. Was hoping I could get some free $5 gift card or something at least.

I got a free subscription for a year to a magazine.  But pay attention.......I apparently agreed to an 'automatic renewal' in getting the subscription.   Took me numerous times telling them to STOP sending me more issues after the 12 months was over.   They kept sending the magazine and of course, kept sending me invoices for them.

Finally got them to stop.
