Ugh! Why is automation so difficult?
« on: October 03, 2018, 08:59:34 AM »
There are several accounts that I've been trying to get automated to go on my credit card.  Insurance, HOA etc.  But they won't do it or its a convoluted process- check or bank draft only.  I'm not willing to do bank draft b/c I've had several bad experiences with overcharging etc. in the past.  I'll do what I need to but in 2018 you'd think this would be easier.  Just needed to vent to people who would get my frustration.

Most places that shun credit cards are because of the merchant fees that are charged.

There are a lot of people who have livelihoods dependent upon preventing and slowing down automation.

This is why I pay ALL bills on the first of the month, every month, even if they're not due for a few weeks. An hour per month to pay everything manually, and update my tracking spreadsheet for cash flow and net worth, is far less stressful than worrying whether something went through on automatic payments.

I use my bank's billpay system to send a check for child support monthly. Of course, the amount and day is constant.
