I think about that when I drive 1 mile round trip to drop my kid at day care (can't walk, 8 lane highway crossing) and pass something like 2million in cars. not usually anything supercar level, just a ton of mercedes, bmw, etc. But then I remember that statistically, 75% of the people I pass have zero retirement savings, along with probably 20k+ CC debt.
I'm just starting out but I'm only 33, and I seem to be way ahead of most of my coworkers, even those in their late 50s or creeping up on 65.
I could sure go out and buy a few pounds of that steak to feed to my dog or mix with Steak-ums for sammiches, but why bother? not worth it for what I want to do...
