Thoughts on "quicken home, business and rental"?
« on: February 11, 2018, 09:55:32 AM »
I'm thinking about making a shift in how I'm tracking my expenses and may purchase this software.

1) thoughts on using this for rental property expense tracking?

2) I keep seeing a monthly expense. Do I have to pay that?  I'd rather buy software I just use and pay for one time, not a perpetual monthly fee

Quicken switched to a subscription model. Go to amazon, they had a 27 month for the best price I could find. when it's up, the software will keep working but all the internet stuff turns off I guess.

I haven't used that version, so can't help with the rest.

Also found this quote from the letter from the CEO in November 2017

We have also heard concerns about access to Quicken data if you choose not to renew your membership.  With the Quicken Data Access Guarantee, you are assured that you will continue to have full access to and control over your desktop data, even if you don’t renew.

Have you looked at any of the FOSS options?

This was a 15 second investigation: https://opensource.com/life/17/10/personal-finance-tools-linux

There are Windows/Mac alternatives for some of those titles.

You might do better with more effort than I gave. ;)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
