If you desire the freedom that much though, why wait?  1k/yr should be easy enough to earn online, or with a 2 week/yr job.  Go try it out with that in mind, and see how you like it. 2 weeks working, 50 weeks off, spending only 1000 during that 50 weeks.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Because its such a small amount there's nothing to lose. Using the 25X rule you'll have $25-50K (or pounds). If the plan goes belly up you'll drain your stash and be forced back to work by the time you're 30. Working again at 30, oh the horror!

Its a safe plan because you'll start young and have a fall back of working again. If this is what you want it can easily work out, just keep in mind that if you see your money dwindling you'll need to get a small job (obviously). If you actually need so little to spend it can be a part time minimum wage job which are typically the easiest to get. Getting a job that pays $100k/year is harder than getting a job that pays 20k (if it wasn't everyone would have big salaries).

The greatest benefit is you'll learn how to spend extremely small amounts. If that works for you then you'll have the advantage over me.

Another consideration: mold.  Ireland is incredibly damp, and mold is a constant threat to the houses.  I lived in Dublin, and we had mold behind the headboard of our bed, where the heat didn't penetrate (against an exterior wall).  Even if you can handle that damp, bone-soaking cold personally (and it gets really freaking cold out west, in Galway and Donegal), you really need to warm a house in the winter to keep the mold at bay.

How much are you going to spend on a house? How much in materials to fix it up? I don't know the Ireland housing market. I think what some are saying to live like that, may be more work than just working a little more or even just part time. I would get a part time job just to be somewhere warm.  I guess the positives is that you are young and able-bodied, so if you need to modify your plan you have a lot of time to do so.

I've seen some houses going for £15k-£30k  requiring renovation such as floors and walls.
Well converting it is like 20250+ --- 40500+ euro.

Must be some backwater place... or something that needs huge costs repairs. You do know that repair costs in cheap houses can be greater the value of buying?

Most people that I work with call me crazy for leaving this so called dream job and live in poverty and be broke by 62 (41 now), but the way I see it, if most think some lifestyle is crazy, it means it's against the norm and it's worth doing.

Monday night, I was riding my Mtn bike for 2 hours through the pitch black forest on single track trails and crashed into a deer. Then I thought, how many other people are doing this exact thing at the same time anywhere in the world. Not many.Maybe none. Millions are sitting in front of TV or PC . That's how I know I'm not wasting my life away.

Go for it.

Made my day.
