The Science behind money and more!
« on: February 26, 2014, 08:54:14 AM »
This is a fun little article that will be sure to get you thinking about such things as:

1) The hormone of generosity
2) The counting conundrum
3) Delayed gratification

In the end I think it comes back down to materialism and hedonic adaptation...

yea...I agree. There is always some chemical in the brain these days that seem to be responsible for everything. Interesting though i will say that.

Yes, my dh is like that.  We have a 1.1M but that's not enough; he wants 3 million.

He recently started buying lottery tickets because SAYS he wants to retire (waste of $$ imho).  In the meantime he works more hours than ever before even though he doesn't have to (he works about 10 hrs/day).  I ask him why he works so hard, and he doesn't answer me.  When I REALLY press him for an answer, he tells me he's working on an interesting project at work.  He doesn't make sense to me!

There's only one rational explanation: your husband is a spy, exchanging secret messages encoded in lottery tickets. Of course he can't tell you what he's doing.

I'm the bastard sitting here wondering where I can get an oxytocin inhaler.  You know, for science.
