Definition of frugalist in the English dictionary (noun):
The definition of frugalist in the dictionary is a person who is frugal or thrifty.

My Ex: I am the frugalist frugalist I know. I am overstuffed with frugality.  Not frugal as a noun but closet I could find as sex neutral.

Can't believe no one did hedonistic adaptation. Or its opposite, spartanistic adaptation - giving up the fancy stuff for the less fancy stuff until it seems "normal" and then giving that up for even less fancy stuff.

Ex:

I see how frugalist can be a noun, but not frugal.

"She's a frugalist"
vs
"She's a frugal"

I read it as "fru-gal". But I agree trying to use it in a sentence might be fraught.
"overstuffed" should clearly be an adjective. The lady across the street from me is overstuffed -- she's a bit of a hoarder.

The purpose of this thread is twofold.

1. It's a lexical playground where, related to Mu$tachiani$m, we can have fun with our  whimsical definitions of  existing words and invent comical new words.

2.  The second purpose is to post definitions of actual Mu$stachiani$m$.

Let's have more fun!

When a very little girl a friend asked her father and was told "frugal" meant "save, saving."  She then wrote a story in which the imperiled heroine cried "Frugal me!  Frugal me!"

Perhaps that summarizes the promising beginner's first-exposure response to this website.

Noun.
1. Term ascribed to cautious and meticulous financial planning in order to ensure net worth exceeds expected future expenses by a margin greater than original projections.

2. Term ascribed to scaredy-pants investors who can't let go of the rat race to finally make what ought to be a rational decision to let the math speak for itself.

If you pronounce frugal as "fruggle" it almost sounds insulting...

Time to check the hoses and fluids and fire this baby back up.  I am sure there have been other additions to the jargon with the onset of the corona-geddon so I thought I would pop in and see if she hums.  New readers need an introduction to some of the early entries anyway.

Timing the Market:  Attempts to go in and out of the stock market based on news, trends, Fed movements, 10 year bond rates, bad feelings, phases of the moon, viruses, etc.  Generally frowned on yet endlessly attempted and written about in these forums.  "This time it is different!"

Top: A relative high point in the market which injects fear into market timers as well as average folk.  Never the actual top.

IBKR: Interactive Brokers.  Currently the cheapest place to get a margin loan if you want to access cash without selling stock.  Reference MMM blog posting of January 29, 2021.

Marginability:   The bullet proof quality of whatever stock you are trying to take a margin loan against.  Proceed with caution, see also "Buying Power".

Wall Street Bets subreddit:   A sand box for both the truly stupid and also the incredibly smart and ballsy, some of which attempt to manipulate stock prices by pumping.  Hard to tell the difference most days, it is reality TV for investors.  Take from it what you want and leave the rest.

So many more, but that is my start.

I like these kinds of threads! I've  never heard "marginability" before.

I think Robin Hood invented "buying power" to mean cash in the account, that's the only place I've seen it anyway.

Store of Value: used lately to mean any speculative investment, usually crypto currency or real estate in a bubble market

It's feminine in that Mrs. Stoax is a frugal.   Me, Mr Stoax, is a fruguy.  And if all goes to plan our stache will be worth a frugillion dollars!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
