The easiest bank bonus ever?
« on: January 03, 2022, 08:37:13 AM »
Alliant credit union, deposit $100 for 12 months, receive $100 bonus. Follow the link from Doctor of Credit.

Ok, admittedly, the bonus is miniscule, and it takes a full year, but to sign up online, link your bank through the app, then set up auto deposit once a month takes all of twenty minutes and in a year you'll have $1300.

I think it's a good one for beginners, or maybe your kids, or someone needing to set up forced savings on a low budget.
Or just someone nervous about bank churning.
Or anyone, I'm doing it.

How is this "easiest"? Seems like the normal bank bonus process.  The bonus is just smaller than normal.

Mainly that deposits don't have to code as direct deposits. Normally I have to research to see which bank pushes are coding as direct deposits and direct money to those accounts, wait for the automated micro deposits,to clear, make the transfer,  monitor to check that it coded as a direct deposit, if it didn't trigger then start over--given, that's worst case scenario. I have had most of my transfers code correctly, but I still have to monitor them for days and weeks.  And re do a few. Also, there's no spending requirement on this one. I think it's simplicity might appeal to some that normally wouldn't do this. It seems like most people I know who I try to tell them about bonuses just react like I'm crazy, or it's illegal, or they just couldn't be bothered because it's such small amounts. I'm kind of a beginner so I'm still enthusiastic about it,  Free Money!

This account pays .55% which is average for the "high interest" online savings accounts, they have a credit card I'm looking at too that pays 5% at "bookstores" (Amazon)
