« on: November 03, 2013, 07:36:28 AM »
Someone at Bogleheads posted and interesing milestone.  His 401(k) hit $401k.

Not sure when that happened to me, all my 401ks have long simce been rolled into IRAs.

Still, a cool milestone to track.

Hah, that's a fun one.  Thanks for sharing.  :)
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

We never stayed at any one job long enough to hit $401k.  I think the largest is at $250k (Mrs. RootofGood's).  We'll probably keep it since it has Vanguard institutional funds.  Let's hope one day it hits $401k.

That's just cool.  I don't know when we hit that milestone, but if I had realized, I'd have celebrated by cooking a nice meal or something.

Nice one!!  I will try to mark that occasion... though mines only at $31K so it will be a while!

Unfortunately, I have a 403b, so I'll never see that. Guess I'll shoot for 403b(illion) instead.

When I was a kid, I thought that 401k's were accounts that had 401,000 in them always. I was silently baffled for years.

I don't think either of us will stay in the same job long enough to reach this milestone, but it is a really cool one!
