Tell me about the Hermitage PA area, please
« on: August 10, 2016, 09:54:21 AM »
Will be moving to Hermitage PA, and it seems like a pretty nice, quiet area.  Went to Buhl Park, and was amazed at what a jewel it was, plus there is plenty of outdoor recreation at Shenango river lake, and Cleveland & Pittsburgh are not too far away, if I want a city fix.  Lake Erie is pretty close too, which I really like.  So, for folks familiar with the area, I'd really appreciate what you enjoy doing around the area, great places to dine, activities/events for the area, etc.  Thanks a lot for your replies.

I do not know much about the town, but have visited the surrounding area. Pymatuning, Moraine, and McConnells mill state park are nearby. New Wilmington and Volant have Amish communities and interesting shops in town. Grove City outlet mall is not far. Pittsburgh and Erie are easy drives as well, as you mentioned.

I've never been in the area, but I'd start by exploring the city's webpage:  http://www.hermitage.net/  They have a really good community newsletter posted in the "Info for Residents" page.
