I read MMM so much...
« on: October 16, 2012, 12:35:59 AM »
... that the guy who sits behind me in my office has started rolling up notes (money notes) and putting them under his nose, saying with the weirdest Russian accent, "Oh, I loooove you Mister Money Moustache".

Hahaha! I can't read at work but any excuse to read at home and I'm here.  Ahem, I have to apply Bakaris post about getting more hours in the day...my MMM addiction is not helping with that!

I read MMM with the theme song to Rocky playing in the background.

Just kidding.

Photo? Pretty please? Start a trend! I think there could be a Money Moustache around the world photo gallery. People could do Mustaches of Many Currencies. It could become...you know...like a thing. Let's start it with your coworker.

^ Haha! That'd be awesome! I totally put the idea to him today. He said he didn't want to be on "Miiister Maaahney Maaahstache" :( Sadface. I will definitely try again tomorrow, hehe.

I'm here too much, I don't have a ton if self control! I love the blog but DAMN I'm becoming a fan of some of the forum participants! I love Bakari and IP Daley. I have noticed that reading it too close to bedtime will keep me from falling asleep though. I don't know if it's the backlight from the iPad or financial worrying. (I'm not Mustachian enough or haven't been long enough to have eliminated my worry).
If I don't remember to log out, it looks like I'm on ALL night. I'm not!
If only we had a MMM game for the PS3, maybe I could get the husband on board. Looks like hockey is coming back so his campaign to turn the cable back on has started! *wah wah, we don't even get ESPN*. Thank god he doesn't read the blog. He was not amused when I asked him if he wanted a bedpan with that.

I just got my girlfriend onboard, finally. She wants us to be Mr. and Mrs. MM for halloween next year, complete with mustaches made from money. Too bad she already has a costume for this year... hopefully I'll have an epic pic for everybody in 12.5 months.

Well epic is a matter of perspective.

It's mostly because they see me reading or hear me talking about MMM, and because when they are going out to lunch twice a week they all quote my mantra "He can't afford it because he has a mortgage".

Keep in mind that the colleagues I speak of are my subordinates (such a terrible sounding word) and make less money than I.

Epic, nope... but my 'stache is coming along nicely.

Around here, we refer to MMM as "Mr Mustache Moneyman" because my boyfriend couldn't remember what he was called for a while, now that has stuck. He's on board with a lot of things, but won't give up cable while sports are happening (I'm working on building a dvr to appease him when there is no hockey, it's tough to find time to work on it though... I'm workin on it). He seems to think that we're as crazy as the "extreme cheapskates" but I've been able to slowly prove to him that the Mustachians are much more reasonable. It's just tough whenever I need him to be more badass (he doesn't own a bike, he won't let me turn the heat down, etc)

I think with your hubby you just have to start with something small that is easily justifiable and go from there (do something and THEN tell him where you got the idea). Cloth napkins was one of my first big changes, I was very nervous to bring that one up, but the amount of paper towels we use now is SO much less! I also use rags to wipe down the kitchen and the kitchen towel is used much more now.
