Spreadsheet??
« on: October 19, 2012, 07:31:33 PM »
Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this site and all I can say is, WOW!  It has certainly be eye-opening.

Earlier today I was browsing the forums and came across a link to a spreadsheet that a member created.  You plugged in your income, savings rate, current investment amount and it told you how many year's until retirement.  It had a nifty, interactive  bar chart below the data entry fields.  I unfortunately closed out of my browser before bookmarking it and now I can't find it- any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks, and I feel sure I'll be back soon with other questions!

Hmm, there's a bunch of spreadsheets around.  Yours sounds like a basic networthify-style spreadsheet.

Perhaps it was this one: www.mrmoneymustache.com/forum/welcome-to-the-forum/an-excel-retirement-calculator-based-on-mmm's-4-swr25x-income-math/

That's the one I currently use personally (though quite modified), but I like it cause it auto pulls every number in it from all my other spreadsheets (I.e. I open it and it tells me how long and the date that I can FIRE based on spending pulled from another spreadsheet, income pulled from elsewhere, current portfolio, pulled from elsewhere, etc.)

Let us know either way, and if not, we'll keep digging.

EDIT: Rereading your description makes it sound like www.networthify.com itself based on the bar chart part.  That's not a spreadsheet though, so I'm not sure.  Is there a spreadsheet around that is like the one linked above, but has a bar chart built in like Networthify?

Have you tried going back through your browser history?

THANK YOU!   Networthify was what I was looking for. This is such a helpful and inspiring forum/blog, and I am looking forward to learning (and saving!) more.
