Selling clothes on eBay or Poshmark
« on: February 07, 2018, 01:06:40 AM »
Hi all, I would love some tips for selling clothes on Ebay or Poshmark.  How do you know how to price stuff?  For example, I have a lovely green silk dress that I bought in Paris last year for 260 Euros, and I've worn it once.  Pricing it at 100 euros seems really high, so, do I just low ball it to get rid of it?  Any advice welcome.  I've never sold any of my stuff b/c I usually just donate it.

I sell on Poshmark. I have about 40 items listed and sell around one per week. Definitely check out the Poshmark subreddit, there is a lot of good info there on pricing and how to create a great listing. $100 for your dress doesn’t sound crazy if it is a well known designer, but expect to take a discount on the sale if you don’t have any other Poshmark sales or listings that show you are a reputable seller.

I have found that the more you know about your item and more information you include in your listing, the more likely you are to get a sale.  So instead of green silk dress, you need to put the designer name, preferably the style name, the season/collection, etc.  Also, make sure that you include photos of the dress on a person.  It can be you or a photo pulled form the internet, but I won't buy anything on ebay or poshmark that doesn't include a photo of someone wearing it.
