Sears Canada Warranties

Apparently that extended warranty on my newish fridge is no good. Sears can KMA!

But if you bought the fridge in the past year, don't you have yourself to blame?   I think January was the announcement that they needed to restructure, right?  If this was a 5 year warranty, then yeah,

Halfway through my five year warranty.  Fridge has water and ice and a large display. They fixed it once the first year and the tech said I'd be glad I had the warranty.

That sucks.  SEARS used to have decent warranty service, and we've used them several times.

I've never been able to get useful service from my Sears warranty, even when the appliance was clearly defective. So my opinion is that their warranties were useless from the get go. The fact they're now bankrupt is immaterial.
