PSA: For anyone who is thinking of using the "surcharge free" Allpoint ATMs (located in Safeways, Walgreens, etc.) to withdraw cash from your EIP / Stimulus Card:
When you enter the 4-digit PIN, the first screen will show: Check all Balance, Checking only Balance, Saving only Balance, Other Menu.
Since the instruction from
https://www.eipcard.com/faq:
To get cash, simply:
1. Enter your 4-digit PIN
2. Select “Withdrawal” from “Checking”,
I selected Checking only Balance which is a mistake since it deducted $0.25 to show me my balance instead of leading me to a menu where I can choose Withdrawal.
The correct choice is the last one "Other Menu" at the bottom which will lead you to the next screen where you can select "Checking", then "Withdrawal".
Please note that there is a withdrawal limit warning of $200 which may lead you to think that it is the daily limit. It is not, I was able to withdraw an additional $200 by reinserting my card and punching my PIN, but for the last withdrawal I could only withdraw $180. WHY??? Because I could only withdraw an increment of $20 and the $0.25 deduction means I have to leave $19.75 in the EIP Card.
Pretty sneaky or I'm stupid!!!!
I guess I'll need to load the remaining balance to Amazon instead.
