Presenting my FI app
« on: April 28, 2017, 04:09:44 PM »
Hi there,

I would like to present my Android app for building your way to financial independence. I have recently picked up that topic myself, but I am obviously still at the very beginning.

You can find the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=brainlag.studios.wealthyou
I am only a free-time app developer, so please be nice with your criticism. :D In my real work life, I am a systems engineer, which requires a quite different mindset.
Any wishes, ideas and criticisms are welcome. Also, I am not a native English speaker, so feel free to point out any mistakes.

You can "buy" the full version for free by paying with one of the following promo codes. Unfortunately, each code can only be used once, so you may have to try out a few. I don't know of a better solution. If we run out of codes, I can generate more. So you see, I obviously don't want to rip you off. :D

Interesting. Is the goal to produce a set point in time analysis, or for this to be a ongoing tool?

One suggestion is to maybe allow the investments to enter units and get the price from Yahoo or google finance. A second suggestion is to have a check box for expenses that won't continue when retired, e.g. a mortgage payment.

Cheers

The app is meant to be used by you over the time until you achieve your financial independence. You are supposed to update all information from time-to-time (e.g. your income, expenses, and your hopefully growing pile of investments).

It is of course not necessary to use it every day, but I hope I can make this also interesting, for example by showing daily tips (right now, there is a very limited number of tips).

Thank you for the other suggestions. You are not the first one to suggest including stock quotes. :-)
