This pic isn't really money related but I was going through random downloads on my computer and it reminded me of this thread. You don't need money to look good.

I don't get it.... so the cost is linear, with a slope < 1? Stuff costs money to own?

Yeah, that's not what most people mean. They mean they are out of money.

I like this one.
Old school mustachian.
Yo, stop at the deli, the theater's overpriced
You got the back pack? Gonna pack it up nice
Don't want security to get suspicious
MrPibb and Red Vines equals crazy delicious
Yo, reach in my pocket, pull out some dough
Girl acted like she'd never seen a ten befo'
It's all about the Hamilton's, baby
Throw the snacks in the bag
And I'm a ghost like Swayze
Roll up to the theater, ticket buyin'
What we're handlin', you can call us Aaron Burr
From the way we're droppin' Hamilton's
I saw this on the internet years ago, don't remember where I first found it.
Don't have any to contribute, mainly because I don't know how to attach a picture (that's embarrassing to admit). But following for the laughs!Look below the text entry box. (See attached screenshot)

It's a free country. But there is already a thread for those (which coincidentally already has a link to the one you posted):

Found someplace on Tumblr.
I'm sad this thread isn't as long as the overheard at work thread...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's absurdist humor.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's absurdist humor.
It's not that absurd.
Switch to Republic Wireless, get some energy efficient bulbs, cook at home more, maybe get a roommate to cut that rent down, and he can get most of those categories quite a bit lower.
Probably drop his monthly spend down from $4900 to $4300, a savings of $600/mo = $7200/yr. That's $180,000 less he needs to have saved using the 4% rule, just by trimming his food, data, rent, and utility bills.

One day I want to go in and withdraw like $100,000 in cash just so I can see what it looks and feels like in real life. How big (size) is 100,000 $1 bills? +/-6000 cubic inches... Should fit in a large suitcase? (30x20x10) But would it be within the airline weight standards? :)
I remember bringing a duffel bag to the bank to withdraw 13k for a motorcycle purchase (before mustachianism). It fit in an envelope, not even particularly stuffed. So 8 kinda full envelopes.Ron Swanson for strength while saving the monies and Yoda for when you're getting close to FIRE...

Yes, those people are the worst. All of you posting pictures are the best. The Ron one makes no sense to our British friends. :)
This briefly did the rounds again after the (GBP £) pound crashed and burned. Many a person thought they were minted or investment geniuses because their investments went up (when measured in GBP) even though their global purchasing power went down.

Many a person thought they were minted or investment geniuses because their investments went up (when measured in GBP) even though their global purchasing power went down. Not to derail here but if I convert a bunch of my money to USD (or USD investments), and then the pound crashes vs the dollar it's still a good (or lucky) move that makes me real money.
Not only have I preserved my global purchasing power by doing so but for most people 99% of their spending is in local currency anyways, so you win.

You had $100s though. He asked about $1 bills. So 800ish kinda full envelopes, not 8. :)
@Adventine, that quote is epic. Where is it from?
Google says it is from Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig

And another that resonates with me:
The "Having only one child" thread is so serious right now, so I'll post this here:

OK, OK, don't shoot! I admit I was soft, I didn't have MMM FI money until I was 54 yrs old.
I'm now 62 and mostly RE with more than MMM FI. I can afford to be soft.

I assume it's more in response to the recent glut of people excusing face-punch worthy extravagance. "Oh, yes buy the new SUV, it makes sense for you. It's ok, I spend $$$ on eating out every other day too!"

I shit you not - a temp working for us called me this morning asking for an advance on her paycheck (no) because her new Michael Kors purse got stolen and the only money she had was $20 in cash.
This reminded me of us.
