If she wasn't, you wouldn't be reading this.

I think her first problem is thinking that she has to go to Oxford to get the degree she wants.

It's hardly a problem if she gets others to pay for it!  :)

Basically this. Attractive prospective student professionally begs, and gets donations.

A fool and his money are soon parted?

It is very difficult to take someone seriously when they compare managing a facebook page  to a full time job (but I guess after four years of being unemployed its easy to forget what a job is like).

It's probably safe to assume that she wants an Oxford degree. So indeed, she must go to Oxford. Oxbridge have long been the home of the vanity master's degree. It seems to be much more the case than at elite U.S. institutions.

So?  Why should she get hammered by such fees?  Maybe she's going for a dumb major but she's hardly the first, wont be the last.  If it's really dumb she'll still be hosed.  I think people are just jealous they didn't think of it first.  Besides, it's not like she's drowning kittens for £s or anything.

Bingo!

Why not just go straight to a US PhD program (as her begging page states is her goal)?  There she might get a stipend, and possibly a tutition waiver as well.

I don't see any fundamental issues with this at all. It's basically just like a scholarship grant program except the solicitation is coming from the demand side instead of the supply side. If you don't think she's a worthy candidate, don't donate.

If other people are willing to give like that, I see absolutely no issue with it. Would I give? Hell no.

She's a pretty girl using her attractiveness to get money.  Other people use their assets to get money, such as using strong muscles for manual labor or keen intelligence to do neurosurgery.  Personally, I don't really care abut how attractive she is, so I wouldn't give money, but there are a lot of people out there who apparently think the fact that she is attractive is worthy of donations.  There is an entire culture on YouTube where young women make money this way, so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.  It's a tough world.  You've got to hustle to make ends meet.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
