Between the introduction of a HSA plan for full-time employees and scheduling part-time employees for fewer hours (less than 29.5) so they wouldn't have to be given health insurance, my employer (100,000+ employees) has adapted.

So yeah, barely a ripple to them!

I work for an industrial construction company. Although the cost of insurance went up dramatically the company did a pretty cool thing for its employees and shouldered most of the costs so the employee only saw a few dollars a week raise in those costs.
What that really means is that to meet their profit goals they need to charge clients more and to recoup construction costs those clients need to charge more to their customers. So in the end yes it barely causes a ripple in corporate America because it all filters down to the average consumer anyway.

Of course it didn't affect the corporations, it affected individuals.  The companies aren't spending any more on health insurance, it's the employees who are spending more and getting less.  This has been proven over and over in the last few years.  Companies don't have to care though: what employees do with their pay is of no concern to them.

America needs real healthcare reform.  Reform that actually provides healthcare, not insurance.  The ACA was written by lawyers for the major health insurance companies as a way to force more people to buy health insurance that costs so much while providing so little benefit with deductibles upwards of $6000 per person (and upwards of $12,000 per family) that no real people get any benefit from it.  Meanwhile spending continues to increase in the healthcare sector in order to get our already very poor health outcomes.  It's a travesty.

This article ignores the massive unemployment numbers of people who have given up looking for work or have one or more part time jobs, which puts them into the marketplace rather than corporate insurance. It also ignores the Obamacare waivers for the largest corporations, & the fact that Obamacare requirements for corporations have been deliberately kicked down the road.

Just whistling past the graveyard.
