Hello,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. Before my discovery of this blog, I had been living well outside of my means during a very indulgent 4 year period of my life. I had $40k in student loan debt, and also financed 2 fancy cars during that four year period. I would go out every weekend to nice restaurants and frequent the bars with my friends. Needless to say I didn't have much in the way of retirement. I felt a lot richer than I actually was.
Since following the advice of this blog and other online materials, I'm proud to say that I'm debt free! I paid off the student debt, sold the cars, and currently drive a Honda Fit. I'm no longer trying to impress people with material things and it feels great! I've noticed now when I'm out I view things through a mustachian lens which has helped with impulse purchasing. Anyway, I'm currently contributing to a Roth IRA and saving for a house and the discipline of this whole experience has been a really positive thing for me.
Thanks for reading!
