In all my decades of clipping my finger/toe nails with a cheap clipper, i never knew there were ones with built in nail catcher till i saw this:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Green-Bell-Takuminowaza-Stainless-Steel-Nail-Clipper-S-With-Built-In-Catcher-G-1200/300168762
Do they work?
recommendations for one? (im not going to pay $12 for one.)

Seriously ?

I'm pretty sure we have/had a pair like that. It kept the clippings from flying around.
That said, the most important thing to me is a clean cut, and since they're not in use, I don't think they made the cut, so to speak.

My next nail 'clipper' will be a rotary tool.

Must be from Japan for sure, they a incredibly clean and tidy.

Yes, I have one and I love it. You can do the same on the cheap with a piece of adhesive tape installed over the sides of a regular nail clipper. It will probably require tape replacing after a while, but until then you can see if you like it or not.

Been using one for years. I never found the catch particularly useful though. It slides down too easily.
