My wife went on a spending spree!
« on: January 18, 2015, 09:31:31 PM »
My wife was out with the baby today and went on an impulsive spending spree! Gasp! First she bought him a pair of shoes for a whole $5. Then she just couldn't resist another pair that he'll grow into another $5...

... hehe. I love my wife!

haha, sounds like my wife.  Went to goodwill and saw a hat for our baby (we live in the 7th coldest town in america, so we'd use it), that cost $2, and went... 'Well I could make that for cheaper,' and didn't buy it.

I think it's true that having a SO that is on the same page is very helpful.  Both in reaching FI, but also just in life.

You need to have a talk with your wife.  Tell her that in order to fit in as a typical American, she must buy her shoes for 10 times the cost of those $5 pairs because, well, that's what you do in this country.

...this "saving money" stuff.  It's so unamerican.

;)

True, true. Even better, I'm the spendy one between the two, so I feel like I learn from her every day.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
