My son got a car
« on: September 16, 2015, 07:33:16 AM »
My son is 21.  He had a car once at 18 before but had to give it up because the repairs cost more than he had at the time.  Due to his illness he couldn't really jobhunt or look for vehicles for about a year.  Now he receives a small disability check.  Turns out he has been quietly staying home saving money and searching like mad.  He got his hands on a 2001 Saab that has a sunroof.  He said it needs headlight work a new grill and a radio.  He paid $850 for it.  I didn't put in a dime he did it all himself.  Of course I expect he will look for a part time job to help afford insurance, gas and upkeep.  I am very proud of him for doing it all and not even taking my brother's offer of assistance though the offer still stands.

Aw! I have a son about that age. It's tough to see them struggle and so gratifying when they make good moves.
Keep up the good work, both of you!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
