Moving to Austin. Looking for advice on housing.
« on: August 01, 2017, 01:21:27 AM »
Hi!

I am considering moving to Austin for work and I am exploring Housing options. The offices are 10 miles south west of downtown. I don't have a car and I am not planning to get one anytime soon. But I have a great bike so I'll be riding from wherever I live. Luckily, I can work from home whenever.

People I have spoken with suggest renting something in downtown. The prices I have seen for a one-bed apartment range between 1400 and 2000. I can afford it but I want to consider alternatives so I can save more.

BTW, if anyone is looking for a solid tenant, look no further.

Any suggestion, other areas, apartment complex specific or other considerations are welcome.

I also saw there is an MMM meet-up. I am looking forward to joining once I get there.

Thank you!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
